What makes one group of women's feelings on the matter more important than the other's? You act like it's such a tragedy, these poor women will have to put more clothes on for one competition. They still get to be glammed up and it's not like they're going to be wearing baggy jumpsuits that hide their nice figures. They can still get their name out there and find somewhere else to be sexy. The only difference is now the ones who don't want to strut around half-naked can be more comfortable. I don't see the big deal, seems like it works out for everybody.

How does this work out for everybody? You're telling the people who like and are already doing something to just suck it up and live with the changes because you don't like it (and I mean the figurative 'you' just to be clear).

If you liked playing golf but I just came in and said putting was no longer allowed because it hurts my back, would that just be fine? Or should I just instead not play golf with you?

Making every woman wear swimsuits because some of them like it is like if I went bowling and made everyone else use the same ball weight as me. Meaningless analogies are fun!

As I've said from the beginning, they can show off on their own time. This isn't really robbing them of the opportunity to do something, outside of one event. I guess it means they'll have to rely on something besides their looks if they want to win, but hasn't that kind of always been the case? I don't know how much it weighs (used to weigh) into the judging. Personally I've always found the contestants to be at such similar levels of attractiveness in a high-level competition like Miss America that I don't know why it even mattered

It is robbing them of an opportunity because a lot of these women bust their fucking asses to get to where they want to be for that shit. It's no different than if you were to take out the...talent portion? Do they have a talent portion? Fuck if I know.

Anyway the point is changing the rules up because some people complained is shitty. I know I'd be annoyed if I was at the gym everyday, watching every calorie I ate for years only for someone to come in and say, "Lol jk, we're not doing that anymore". And I don't like the ongoing precedent that women shouldn't be able to flaunt their shit for money/fame. If they've got it, they should absolutely be able to flaunt it and make money off of it. Good for them.

People should strive to be fit for intrinsic health reasons, appearance is a bonus. I don't really see how this is a big "all for nothing" scenario anyway. Again, this barely robs them of opportunities to capitalize on their attractiveness.

No, this attitude is shitty. "Because that's how it always was" is such a horrible enemy to progress. Societal standards and attitudes change, and it's inevitable you have to embrace controversial moves if you want to progress. Is people complaining a bad thing? How else are we supposed to know what we're doing wrong? At least these kind of changes are rarely, if ever, made with zero basis

I agree somewhat. I didnt personally even know they still had the pageant.

But consider this...SJWs probably also HATE that internet porn youre falling back on. Whether it be vanilla stuff or something else...they arent fans.

Only right now they spend more of thier time fighting for changes like this one. Each one they get means they can potentially move on to something else, like the porn you enjoy in private.

So even when it seems irrelevant, keep ib mind that it can still eventually affect you if the crazies who pushed for this change find out about the stuff you like.

I did consider it and it's just a pointless slippery slope argument. There are millions of porn videos out there and there are way too many sites, you'll never see them all shut down. You might see the end of large studio productions but that's always seemed like an inevitable conclusion when there's free streaming.

People have been railing against porn for decades and it's not just still around, but more popular than ever. A lot of the time it's conservative Christian groups against it, stop propping up this "SJW" bogeyman as if they're the only group that acts like a moral authority
