Isn't the G7 literally the 7 richest economies?

Are you implying that the actions of Trump have allowed the US to drop below number 8 and thus allow a member change?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Group_of_Seven
The Group of Seven or G7 is a group consisting of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Notice that 4 of them are also members of the EU which is facing problems with socialism. Then there's Canada which is gradually taking the same path with their laws. Considering that over half of the group is anti-capitalist it would be good either for the US to get out or bring in another country that shares our goals.

Facing problems with socialism? Please explain. I would love it if we were even a bit more socialist, so the only problem I see is the relative lack of socialism.

Regardless of who is in G7.... How do you explain the value of the Euro and the pound and the obvious fact that China is in the process of taking America's place globally?

It isn't anti-capitalist to have market regulations while still keeping them free. That's just what the 1% tell their peons so they can keep siphoning more wealth away from the rest of the nation.

Uhh news flash there's already a ton of food you get that comes from China

Ever buy any kind of garlic that's pre peeled or crushed? China made it. And used unsanitary slave labor for it. Like prisoners peeling cloves with their mouths, only for it to end up in that big tub of peeled cloves. Yummmmm

Very carefully read where your stuff is coming from. I avoid Chinese produce like mad. But that assumes that country of origin is always honest. Which it's not

Improved fertilization and agriculture provided the resources necessary for China's rapid industrialization, putting them back into a position where their superior population numbers give them the edge in geopolitics, whereas America is settling back to the position we SHOULD have been in all along, but which we leapfrogged by taking advantage of the post-WWII devastation of Europe and the collapse of colonial powers. Doubly so now that Europe has effectively rebuilt itself and forged a counterbalancing alliance, while many of the former colony nations have themselves managed to build up economies that place them on par, making the competition more severe than ever.

Realistically speaking, it doesn't matter who we elected President or Congress for the last few decades, nor what policies they pursued, we were never going to retain the same level of economic dominance and political supremacy. What we're generally seeing is the result of global inevitability, based on forces that are beyond any one person (or any one nation). We just don't like it because it means all the people we kind of stepped on on the way up are lining up to kick us on the way down.

About the only real impact we could have had on the process was if a completely insane government just started nuking everyone, which would break the cycle, albeit with negative consequences for most people involved. There really wasn't a realistic outcome where the US retained global hegemony and into the next century.

I think it's about time the world stops humoring Trump.
Just don't invite him to the grown-up table.
Let him keep grifting the country until we get somebody else.

Also there's no way Trump knows the history of the G7. Putin obviously gave him orders to say that lol.

He's implying that a bunch of spineless identitarians' decision to or not to acknowledge the size of the American economy and our impact on the world outweighs the global economy itself.

...well, for starters, it *used* to be the G8. You might be too young to remember this, but before the annexation of Crimea in 2014 (which, if we go back even further, was a part of Russia for hundreds of years prior to them giving it to Ukraine), Russia was a long-time member. And, as a major geopolitical force, it makes sense that Russia would be part of it since it's easier to work with Russia than against it.

China may be an economic powerhouse, but it doesn't have Russia's historical influence. Plus China is every bit as problematic as Russia, if not more so. Keep in mind that they're currently illegally trying to take control of the South China Sea.

It's really not. That's been used as a talking point for ages, but the reality is that China is still very much a developing nation and lacks the political clout held by major nations, partly because it was colonized rather than a colonizer. And, if not for the US and global powers disarming Japan, its military influence in the region would be greatly diminished.

Not to mention China's growing economy has been built on blatantly unfair trade practices, complete disregard for copyright law (including the use of state-sponsored cyber-esponiage of US companies), borderline slave labor, etc.

off the top of my head:

-continually lied about the circumstances of his son meeting with Russian government agents to get dirt on Clinton
-when every intelligence agency said that Russia interfered in the election, he denounced them and said he believed Putin over them
-wanted to create a cybersecurity program with Russia despite the aforementioned interference
-refuses to enforce sanctions on Russia that were almost unanimously approved by Congress
-fired James Comey because he wouldn't drop the investigation into Russian interference, and tried to fired Robert Mueller multiple times, and pressured Jeff Sessions to not recuse himself from the investigation to "protect" him
-once the probe into Russian interference began to produce results (as in arrests and indictments), he tried to discredit and end the investigation (he's still doing this, btw)
-and like this topic says, wants Russia back in the G7 for no reason

G20 is the economic conference. G7/G8 is more of an alliance (although economics is big part of that, as well)

US is a socialist state for the rich. 2/3 of welfare go towards corporate welfare checks to companies that are already doing just fine.

EU has an "issue" seeing the money they pay get back to them.
