I actually liked the first game a bit more than the second, so I think it is worth it.

I've never played any of them, but everyone I know says they're all great, so I'd say yes, go back and play it.

If you care about the plot, that DOES carry over from the first game into the second, so you'll definitely get more out of the experience if you play both.

This seems to be a common opinion. Haven't played the second but the first is great.

The first one is great, I think it might have been overshadowed a bit by Doom but it was kind of a "return to form" for FPS in that it threw a bunch of soldiers at you while not being a strictly cover-based shooter. Story is pretty entertaining as well.

Haven't played the second one yet, figured I would wait until I upgrade my graphics card.
