So apparently Samus doesn't have her Dark Samus palette anymore, and Ike doesn't have his Chrom one. And the Dark Samus/Shadow assist trophies appear to not be in anymore. And Knuckles is an assist trophy now. And Robin's video doesn't show the final smash.

So I'm going to give a real guess of Dark Samus, Chrom, and Shadow being potential Echo fighters.

This seems quite likely then.

I'm surprised they went for Shadow and not Knuckles, but I guess as an echo, Shadow makes more sense.

Dixie Kong doesn't seem out of the question either.

Well, nobody was ever excited for Dark Pit in the first place, clone or otherwise. If you're gonna have clones, make them characters people actually care about.

Basically a pallet swap with slightly different properties. For example Lucina is essentially Marth without tip damage.

It's a fancy word for "clone," so basically what Dark Pit is for Pit and what Lucina is for Marth (or what Roy used to be for Marth in Melee).

People had a problem with them before because it was "Well, ____ was cut but we needed Dark Pit for some reason?"

But now that there's no way to say that anymore, and it's doubtful they coined a new term just to only add one more, people are fine with speculating what others might be added.

I think it's just a positive rebranding of the 'clones' label, which has a nonsensical stigma towards it because people assume that it takes the same amount of dev time for a clone as it does an entirely new character

Echoes have even less differences than clones, but aren't a straight pallet swap.

For example if they change the weights of the Koopalings they would be echoes and not costumes of Bowser Jr.

I don't really understand what differentiates Falco, Pichu, Lucas, Wolf, and Toon Link/Young Link enough to make them NOT echo fighters

unless some of them are receiving some major upgrades

also I'm pretty certain the sole reason they're putting Daisy in the game is to move a lot of unsold amiibo stock

Falco, Wolf, Dr. Mario, etc. have different moves/animations/character properties like speed and weight/etc. The echo fighters do not. They have the same moves that just have different properties to them.

Raichu would have too many different properties from Pikachu. Mainly, it would be heavier than Pikachu and any attacks using its tail should have longer reach.

I mean if Pichu isn't an Echo character than Raichu sure as hell shouldn't be either.
