I remember when Roger Ebert was saying that video games weren't an art form and FFT was relatively new at the time and frankly, I think it should have put him in his place and put that notion to bed. Zikten 06/20/18 9:42:59 AM #2:	there is no way he ever would have played FFT though. even if you gave it to him, he would have refused to touch it, saying he doesn't have time for it. and then he'd say "but I am sure it sucks" people who didn't grow up with video games just have a hard time seeing them as anything else than children's toys. even my dad who has seen me play games my entire life, still doesn't get why I do it. he is incapable of moving past them just being a simple thing that you shouldn't play anymore once your an adult. there is nothing anyone could have done to change Ebert's mind <cite>Zikten posted [p:903622212] in What video... He had a huge hard on for an arbitrary set of "classics" and would be more likely to rate the story of Force Unleashed higher than FFT because of it's association with Star Wars. With that said, the video game story I'd give him to review would be Spec Ops: The Line as it's functionally a retelling of Heart of Darkness. You're led to think one thing, then another, then another. Because they were in such a huge rush they were just not able to deliver the rest of the story in the same way. So they basically just had to summarize the rest of the story. And while the story isn't anything special, it's not exactly bad to the point of holding the job system back. I don't really mind 3's either.
