So I'm a CS Major and I graduated with a Bachelors in CS in 2017.

I've been looking for a "real" job in CS and I haven't been able to find any.

So the position is as a Security Analyst. They said It involves scripting and primarily customer service. I don't have much experience in this area but they said they'd train me and give me material to learn.

I have an offer of a salary of 48K + Relocation + cost of living adjustment so probably over $50,000 for the year. At the moment I'm low on money and jobless, and also in a lot of credit card debt. But I live with my mother so I am okay. And I like being at home and my mother wants me to stay. She's also getting older and has health problems sometimes. So I'd rather be at home just in case.

I live in NYC and the offer is in Moorestown NJ. Which is a suburb of Philadelpha. It's to far to travel and I also can't drive, so I'd have to relocate.

What should I do? I really don't want to leave home tbh :( I'd rather even get my own place in NYC

Yeah I spoke with her about that, she says she doesn't have the energy to move and she'd rather stay in NYC. She's not leaving

I'm sure you know this already, but your lack of a license/ability to drive is really going to hamper your job prospects. You're basically limited to living within walking distance, or living in an area with a well-established mass transit infrastructure.

Also, Jersey is gross

Wouldn't it be less costly if you two moved from NYC to south jersey? It's probably cheaper than whatever you are paying now in NYC.

Thanks thats true. I do have a permit though. I need to learn to drive though for all I know it might be hard commuting to work without one even if I live in moorestown

Actually my mother owns a coop and only pays 700-ish a month for a one bedroom. We have a view of the manhattan skyline and evertything. The apartments been in the family for 40years now. thats also another reason why I don't want to leave.

Tbh if I found something in ny that payed relatively well I'd be set but its so hard for some strange reason :/

Before you movie, would you be able to get around in Moorestown. Also check the cost of living there , I looked it up in google and it seems that it is a pretty rich place.

for sure take it. move, pay off your debt, get the job experience in a year or two, maybe find something back in the city afterwards.

But good point though, In my heart I really don't want to leave
