I'm trying to get swole so I'm gonna go to the gym. In the past I've been to 24 hour fitness and although costco sell a 2 yr membership for like $399 I think, it's not worth it to go to the busy ass 24 hour gyms even at late night. It's crowded from 6 am to 2 am. Plus the 24 hour fitnesses nearest me got a lot of dangerous thugs at night who might jump my ass. The gym that I am thinking about joining is in a safe area, got enough equipment so I don't gotta wait and is probably the second closest gym to my house but like I said cost $50/month

I mean everyone's answer is going to be different. Someone who doesn't mind going to a "casual" gym like Planet Fitness is going to say it's a lot because they're only paying $10 a month.

Someone who cares about fitness or requires a specific set up, or is limited by geographical range, or someone who makes enough money to justifiably spend that much without feeling it too hard will say $50/mo is worth it.

It's subjective.

Lol anytime fitness is never crowded. You might have 5-10 people there passed 9pm but nowhere near crowded.

paying 15$ for "protection against those bastards who want to jump him" yes please.
worst thing that can ever happen is being outside at night and there's someone wanting to beat the crap out of someone and jack their shit.

I'd say that's about average. There are a lot of expensive places (I was at $75/mo for Lifetime), but the facilities generally are proportionate to the monthly cost. Like mine never had so much as a "hmm where's a treadmill" scare. Hell I think one time out of a whole year did I ever have to be on a treadmill directly next to someone, that's how many there were. Not to mention the pool (only 6 lanes, that would fill up occasionally), the sauna/steam room, and ample locker room space and showers.

There there are your Planet Fitness type places that cost like $10/mo, but I don't even know if those places have showers.

So there's no real way for anyone other than yourself to definitively answer if the cost is worth it. If they gave you a trial run or tour or something and it seemed fine, then go for it.

I pay $10/mo for a large fully stocked gym with Fitness Connection. Only issue is that its hours arent the best (5a-11p, M-Th, 9p Fri, 9a-7p Sa, Su), but its a decent compromise.

I pay 28 a month at the community center. This includes 2 hours of day care every day, access to pool, sauna, hot tub, basketball court, and of course the weight room.
Big fees don't make gains, hard work does.

Or you could take that $600 put it toward a decent weight set and the next year take the next $600 towards a decent treadmill and then never have to pay other people to work out again

I pay $20 a month at Retro Fitness. It has everything I could ever need. I used to be a member of LA Fitness and that was ~$40 a month but they also had a basketball court, pool and sauna so it was warranted.

That's about what I paid at my gym.

Usually I'd just pay it in a lump sum at the beginning of the year.

Its not bad. Membership at my local YMCA is 100 a month, while planet fitness is 10 a month. If your gym had a good atmosphere and plenty of free weights then 50 is good

$50 is good if you have a good sized weight room and plenty of extra stuff like pools, saunas, locker rooms, etc. But if all your paying for is a decent weight room and not really much else $50 is a little high.

Depending on the amenities, I would kill for $50/month. My choices are Planet Fitness for $10/month or Lifetime Fitness for $89/month.
