Board 8 > Devil May Cry 3 for the PC is the absolute worst port I've ever seen.

Note that I'm playing the port of the original PS2 version, not the HD Collection version which is apparently fine.

-Resolution doesn't go above 480p. And by that I mean the game window is literally 480 pixels wide and the size can't be increased.
-Controller support doesn't work. It's coded into the game but just...doesn't work.
-There's massive framerate drops that make it borderline unplayable. The way to fix this, before a mod salvaged everything, was apparently to delete all the music files in the game folder.
-Randomly deleted Steam.dll from its game folder, meaning the game could no longer connect to Steam and wouldn't run. According to google, this has happened to multiple people.
-Doesn't even have a unique Desktop icon. It's just the generic 'windows file' icon.

There's more stuff I'm forgetting. It's just a huge mess. A fan mod fixes most of the problems but without that it would be really, really bad.

When I tried it (disc version, not Steam), the controller worked, but the sticks were the wrong way round. Not exactly playable.

It sounds like the PC port of Dark Souls.

A lot of those same issues before a fan patch 'fixed' it.

Yeah Dark Souls Prepare to Die edition wasn't exactly great. Luckily, someone created a patch within like an hour that fixed everything. Not sure if someone has done that in this case.

Also the worst port absolutely goes to Arkham Knight on Steam. That was an absolute disaster to the point it was taken off Steam.

Original DMC3 PC was pretty famously bad but sadly not the worst ever - there have been some real abominations back in the days when publishers felt like they could get away with it. Came in here to suggest the Style Switcher mod, but it sounds like you're already all over it!

Yeah, Style Switcher is incredible. I'm really bad at comboing Styles together but I'm getting better and it's fun to learn. Style Switcher + Turbo Mode + new music is a whole new way to experience my favorite action game.
