I did a quick google search as well and this was the first result

I wouldn't trust that site. It looks like some kind of sales pitch trying to sell your their product. Sales pitches aren't always the 100% truth since they're trying to sell you something.

I haven't found any actual independent study that says paper usage has dramatically increased.

when every company under the sea wants their own streaming service and it's no better than tv once you add up all the price it'll take to get your shows spread across various streaming services

what will you say then?

Netflix and Hulu cover 95% of the content being made. Combined they barely cost $20 per month, which is far less than the $100+ for cable TV.

Even if you want to throw in a few other streaming services, such as HBO Now, you will still be paying far less than you would for cable TV.

Plus, Netflix and Hulu don't have commercials. (Assuming you subscribe to the non-commercial Hulu plan.)

Saying that streaming is no better than cable is idiotic and just shows that you don't know what you're talking about. Streaming is so superior to cable that it's not even funny. There is a reason why people are leaving cable at a rapid pace. Cable fucking sucks compared to streaming. Cable is obsolete, like the radio. TV replaced radio, and now streaming is replacing cable. Technology never stands still. Change is the only constant.

The market will kinda kill that idea. Things tend to consolidate

So all the media companies will merge with each other?

It isn't all bad news for the pay TV industry, though. UBS does believe one segment of the market will see growth: streaming TV packages. Like traditional pay-TV offerings, these packages give subscribers access to collections of channels. But they're delivered over the internet, tend to offer fewer channels, and generally provide more flexible terms.

Literally "Cable is dying but streaming is keeping pay-TV alive"
