Was third one I played. Played through the remaster.

-Great game
-Easiest in series IMO... didnt overwhelm with numbers like in DS2 and circle strafing worked on almost everything; easier bosses than DS3 too
-I liked the level design and that you had to wait a while to get warp, but wish warp worked on more bonfires
-I really liked the NPC lore in this one the best
-Upgrading was kind of a pain cause you had to get something to +10 before using a boss soul and there were very few slabs

Overall, DS2>DS3>DS1

Havent played Bloodbourne yet, looking for a PS4 Pro

I really don't understand why but I like it the best in some weird ways after 3 came out. It felt kinda cozy and had a unique personality that was more intimate with the player.

something frustrating about DS1, IMO, is how there are three different blacksmiths for different kinds of upgrading, iirc.

overall, I thought that DS2 was a decent game, but it probably has the worst "traditional" bosses, but I liked the bosses that had some kinda gimmick

the Looking Glass Knight is one of my favorite bosses in the series

I loved DS2 for the freedom. It was the biggest one, it had the most variety in environments, the bonfire ascetic was a cool mechanic that made it viable to get multiple +10 weapons and play around with builds, and I really liked the always on mulitplayer mechanic, where you could summon help or get invaded regardless of if you were human or not. Also, it had the single best weapon in all of Soulsbourne: the red iron twinblade. Dark infused + hexer build = pwnage.

This statement is objectively wrong.

It's my least favorite but I have to admit that most of the complaints people have for it are super weak.

I just finished the Remaster a week ago. It was fantastic. I agree with most of your points. The combat was by far the easiest. But the world itself was more punishing. The lore and the world itself was so great it made up for the lacking combat.

I am currently playing DS2 again and I am enjoying it far more than I remembered. The combat is a lot of fun. Customization is nice. The lore is shit tho.

Bloodborne is incredible all around, but kind of short without the DLC and the tedious chalice dungeons

DS3 is just uninspired. DS1, DS2, BB all feel like completely different games. DS3 feels like BB with a DS1 skin.

DS1 = BB = DS2 >>>>DS3

Havent played DeS yet

The easiest Souls game is the final one you play

DS1 is the fairest though

Dark Souls 2 successfully brought new ideas and style to the series with new characters and stuff. It's downfall is in its technical and design aspects.

Dark Souls 3 is a much more polished game but carries itself too much on "remember Dark Souls 1? Remember Siegmeyer? Good times"

Something I never see people commending about 2: the torch/sconce mechanic. I absolutely loved that. Really disappointed me when it didn't return for 3.

Ya i agree. DS2 isnt my fav, but its still a great game.
My only complaint is the bosses. Too easy and a just a bit bland.

Just went back a replayed it right before dsr dropped, had a good time with it.

Usually the first game you play is the hardest. Demon's Souls had a few dud bosses but it was ultimately very good. I think I cheesed most of them lol.

Dark Souls 2 and 3 aren't bad, they just lack in areas.

Definitely a great sub-goal for progression and forced you into a trade off. I'm having trouble thinking of big things 3 added right now. All that comes to mind is pseudo-humanity and removing armor upgrading for some reason

3's big thing was reworking the spell system with FP and Ashen Estus.

And having literally every chest be a mimic.

I think it was alright but the engine was weird, lots of wonky hitboxes, losing Max health was too much of a punish for a game where death should be about teaching, and the last bosses and area of the game wasn't done very well and the story is hard to follow so when I was really salty when I learned that I didn't trigger the Scholar of Sin final boss

I think it does end up as a weaker title due to these issues and it's a shame that 3 refused to take the good ideas of 2 into the next game like sconces

Well they added stances/skills or whatever to all weapons so you still should have been using FP.

I didn't really bother with weapon arts tbh. Also I didn't like that in 3 it wasn't viable to be a caster build early game.

When DS3 first came out I hated what they did to poise but going back to DS1 I really think they made the right choice to change it

It completely trivializes the game and takes away the one noticeable disadvantage of a beefy class.

I liked the adaptability stat in ds2 for poise and I really liked the stone ring.
Also I hated the roll system in ds1. It was too much of a burden to keep equip load below 25%.

I also really liked the pursuer and the npc invader in 2. Made the stakes higher and world feel more lively.
