well, I'm not sure if the border wall is going to be all that effective in deterring illegals, but the wall in itself isn't a terrible idea. Especially if we get like the best french architects to design it. I want it to be more than just a wall :o I want something elegant, refined. Something that doesn't look totalitarian or brutish.

Regulations slashed, taxes cut, illegal border crossing way down (and they're starting to get prosecuted and deported faster now), economy way up, GDP up, unemployment at all times lows with unheard of low numbers for women and minorities, travel ban in effect, and a huge list of other bonuses.

Basically, things are going great.

If the wall would actually be effective in keeping a good percentage of people out and wouldn't be a massive money pit in terms of long-term upkeep, it should be built. It doesn't really matter if it is cost effective in the short term, as long as it actually does something productive for the next fifty to one hundred years. If it will do nothing to impact illegal immigration by a significant amount and will cost billions per year in constant upkeep, then it's pointless.

This just in: most Americans are literally stupid.

This is 2018, a wall will literally do one thing: waste money. We have boats, airplanes, helicopters, and legal visas that expire.

The wall won't be perfect, but it will help. Illegal immigration costs us hundreds of billions per year. The wall will cost at most 30 billion. It will stop enough to pay for itself. And it should act as deterrent in the sense that it's also like a giant glorious middle finger to the people who would think of coming here illegally.

Billions are being wasted every year on the border because the current wall is so shitty. There's administrative cost, enforcement cost, deportation cost and DHS is being stretch thin.

The whole point of the new wall is to greatly reduce border crossing as well as reducing cost overall. It would reduce the amount of people patrolling the border while giving them tools to better maintain security.

People think it's just a wall. No, it's not just a wall. It's a platform for deploying technology like scanners, drones and motion detectors along with other sensors to better maintain our border. It has a big upfront cost, but over time, we may actually save money giving how much we waste every year.

They will. Trump is tough, but he's also fair. He's going to send them the bill once the wall is complete. Trump's projects always come in under budget and ahead of schedule and he doesn't want to overcharge Mexico.

I don't foresee airplanes smuggling large numbers of people being anywhere as effective than just having groups constantly walk across the border, nor do I see boats being very effective. That's what I want to do along with a limit of 1 residential property per Adult Citizen.

Doesn't matter if your have a polygamous family or in a Traditional or UnOrthodox marriage.

As long as it's limited to 1 Residential property (even if it's partially commercial like a Apartment Complex or Hotel) per adult.

It brings a fair and balanced system for all.

We have ~77.1% of the US population are adults which is ~ 249,979,017

I think that's a bit extreme. If I want to have a summer home, or a 2nd house, I should be able to buy them. Limiting how many houses someone can buy basically amounts a form of socialism.

That allows the existing Rich Citizens to gobble up Housing and get richer.

This is a form of balancing act based on a real limited resource.

Residential properties don't grow over night, it takes a while for them to get erected or renovated.

It forces the Rich to choose which property they want to own.

And as if blocking outsiders from buying houses in our country isn't a form of socialism.

I'm just taking it to be a fair / balanced / consistent / ethical / capitalistic rule set that allows all to benefit equally so that the Rich can't over power the middle class and poor.
