Throughout my life I've never had any best friend nor do I feel fit in with any particular groups. I'm not "anti-social" or anything like that (or at least I don't think so), because I do have friendly acquaintances at work, it just that I don't feel super connected with anyone or any groups.

Have you ever or do you feel this way?

No, because I have a home and socialise with people I actually like.

Yeah. Ever since I moved away from st. pete back in 2011 really. Going back wouldn't be the same, since my friends and family don't live there anymore.

Not really. Well, kinda. I mean, I have a bunch of good friends and I'm around people I like. And most of the time, I do feel like I belong. But sometimes, I feel like I don't. But not enough that it's a big deal or anything.

Sometimes

Grades 1 - 3 were awesome, grew bonds with class mates who still I consider friends

4 - 6 moved schools.. maybe made 1 friend while unintentionally distancing my friends from 1 - 3

High school (7 - 12) people had their own groups..
Asian - Didnt fit, they talk about computers, chess, jobs and as racist as it sounds they were all brilliant with Math, most even taking advance classes
Popular - Nope. All the good looking kind of rebel mix of Europeans (Italians, Greeks..)
The Then Hipsters - Didnt care, just went with the flow .. while sporting the "Country Wear" label

Wasnt a losers club so I had no where to go.

School and jobs later on weren't any better, got invited by co-workers at a restaurant for Smash Bros Monday Afternoons which were awesome, but people moved away.. Smash Bros wasnt the same after that

Current job is tough, no one lasts very long so there's no point in even trying to start a conversation with someone...

Tl;dr - Didnt really fit in anywhere, still dont, but thats okay

All the time. Can't trust anyone at work, so I'm wearing the same mask every day while keeping a safe distance. My old friends changed too much, so while we're still friends, I don't feel as comfortable around them anymore. I try to avoid conflict with my family as much as possible, so I just interact with them when necessary and in the way they expect me to. And there aren't many opportunities for me to be alone. I'm basically faking who I am 80% of the time. It's stressful but I can deal with it up to some point.

Yes. I feel like the world will go on with or without me and I'm nothing more than a spectator. I have no friends nor acquaintances per say. I also don't have a job at this point. The only thing I do have is close family members. I know I at least impact their life but also know they can and will go on without me.

I've never really experienced "normal" things. No mother in my life, never had a real GF or any form of a relationship. I've never had a stable job too.

If it's been going on for that long, you probably should consider counseling. That kind of prolonged detachment sounds like a warning sign.

Maybe during the usual teenage angst years? idk, everybody feels misunderstood from time to time. Plus everybody's different and you won't necessarily have a lot in common with everybody. But if you're constantly depressed or feel like you have trouble relating to others, you owe it to yourself to get help.

Personally, I moved around a lot growing up. If I wanted ties to a community, I had to make them. I sometimes feel like a lot of people who complain about their situation don't really put the effort into changing it or, in a worst-case scenario, there could be some underlying problems that need to be addressed.

I just tend to move around friend groups, it's nothing special, it's just the age I'm at.
