I remember in my youth I used to collect Pokemon cards. I had them stored in a binder but I can't find them. Last night when I was closing the store that I work at, I was staring at the Pokemon cards and decided to buy some. And I will admit, it feels kind of like a relief and satisfying to organize cards again.

But lets cut to the point...is there any reason to invest in collecting them? Like should I start buying all the cards that they are selling in stores now or what?

the new stuff is ok, but look for quick flips.

1st ed base set has been spiking recently. not sure why, though. could just be someone trying the buyout game with a different "reserve list".

I bought a couple of packs because Alolan Vulpix was included, and I got a Leafeon card that apparently goes for like $15.

If it makes you happy sure. What do you want from your investments? Monetary profit, building that beast deck, or just a hobby?

i mean if you can get the packs for cheap it might be worth it but honestly money you'd make wouldn't be worth it...you'd be better off investing and spending time elsewhere.

It can be depending on pulls.

I still grab packs occasionally (Mainly when new cards for my favorites are produced) and I pulled a gold trainer card that was worth 12 bucks alone.

EDIT: But everyone else in the topic has the right idea, too risky and too much flux. I did have a co worker once who made his monthly rent selling baseball cards but that's a whole different ball game, pun somewhat intended.

Maybe not to sell the cards, but more so for fun and as a hobby! I want to collect Pokemons that I love.

When years bypass, would they even be worth anything? Or should I just keep it when I have kids down the road in life?
