He was always a favorite of mine from his writing to his video collaborations. He will be missed by me.

I imagine a lot of people care. Frankly, I'm just surprised that somehow I didn't hear about this sooner.

At any the rate, the man was brilliant, but also a colossal dick and a massive copyright troll.

I found out from a full screen memorial to him on Sy-Fy channel about 5 minutes before I posted.

@Zeus you're correct a lot of people care about his passing I just wasn't sure anyone else here would besides me. I find it hilarious you call someone a "copyright troll" over one instance in which the courts eventually confirmed him as correct.

@Andromicus I didn't find him to be such a terrible person, just very strongly opinionated. I also didn't disagree with him all that often either.

Much of the Geek topic likely would, among others.

Uh, no, if it was just *one* instance, it wouldn't be worth mentioning. He's launched dozens of claims over the years, often on extremely flimsy bases. He's dropped some, settled others for credit, made money on a few, etc.

One great more recent example is In Time, where he sued on laughably flimsy grounds, couldn't get money so he altered his lawsuit for credit, then couldn't get credit so he finally dropped his suit.
