Yup, it is really annoying seeing people hate in the game who's favorite game is probably hyper dimension neptunia.

I don't hate it, but it gets boring really quickly.

I played about 4 matches and placed in the top 10 each time because I would just hide all game, but never placed first because the RNG never gave me a gun with higher DPS than what my opponents who killed me would find, and I'm terrible at 3rd person shooters because I'm used to playing games that are designed properly.

I was ready to write off Fortnite as another shit-royale game, but the building aspect is a pretty unique twist on things.

If you got the drop on someone and you have a suppressed weapon or a shotgun, you're going to win 99% of the time.

Why should I bother killing as many people as possible when I could let everyone else kill each other? I can hide and loot things, save everything I have for the end, instead of risking resources and my life for literally no reward

Because that's not fun? You get experience for killing other players and the rewards for winning are pretty minimal

Hiding is a decent strategy, but only if you are confident in your current loadout. Obviously you will need to find something to outlast the final players.

It's not about RNG giving you anything. You have to look for it. That's why it's called loot. Or you can kill someone for their items.

Also, you just said you are terrible at third person games for not being designed properly. Can you elaborate on that?

All that matters truly is materials. They buffed everything to the point, and nerfed shotguns and rockets, that you can kill anybody even with suppressed weapons. Building is the heart of fortnite and will help differentiate the noobs from the goods. This is very different from most shooters where it was aim and reflexes that won matches.

People camping until final four then dying are failing to understanding how the game works. You are supposed to survive yet, but getting the necessary resources via killing other players is an important part of resource management to. How do you expect to take down a player loaded down with enough loot to fill a bunker when you been hiding in a bush watching slaughter everyone? You can't. You also can't build your skills like that.

@Conflict fortnite has serious flaws as a game, but you're probably isn't even the game, it is the fact that it is popular, which is pathetic. I hate that nonsense. Hate the game, not the players. Literally stop letting your bitterness towards normative society make you hate something.

I have alot of video clips of me just clowning on people because I build so much better. So many people don't think of all the counter you can do in this game, it almost like chess. Turtling people can get stink bombed now or panicked by c4. Turtles with a ram covering them instead of a floor can have a wall knocked down and replaced with a spike trap, ensuring death. It really is a clever person's game.

Fortnite is a game for kids who can't afford to play real games, but they can afford 5 or 10 dollars every so often for costumes etc. It exists solely to make money with no artistic merit, quality, "soul" or whatever you want to call it.

I like several other games that depend on the social factor to be worth playing. Even Sea of Thieves is a better game than Fortnite.

I've played nothing but First Person Shooters since the days of DOOM, never any third person. The pivot, of having your character and camera separated from eachother, is weird to me. Zooming in the aim then not only changes the pivot slightly, your character obscures the entire left half of your screen.

Third person is objectively a terrible camera mode for shooter games

I don't hayw it, but my attention span is too short these days with work and shit, so i mainly just play league and single player games

I made the rookie mistake of being baited into an ammo dump trap when I first started out :(

I remember the first time that it happened to me I was at this warehouse looking place and some guy was waiting at me on the roof overlooking the ammo.

Yup.

Just played a game where I got pushed by two people in solo. Turtled so one got lost interest and engaged the other guy. Picked off the winner then some other guy was shooting at me with a scar while I was in the storm. Ran around the storm, using rocks by cover (by the car at dusty divot), then he ramp rushed be so I beat him in the build battle and killed him. I checked and saw another guy on the top of the building on dusty so I didn't loot out in the open and used walls as cover.

It is really easy to survive thanks to instant cover. Bad players just don't know how to take advantage.

Here's the part where we go from "blindly hate" to "criticise at all".

It's an RNG fest aimed mostly at children. Enjoy it but don't pretend otherwise.

There's a lot of luck involved in winning. Mainly rng of where the circle falls on the map. If you're chilling in a building or a high mountain and you're inside the circle, awesome. Get lucky a few more times, and you'll easily have top 10. Weapon drops are also something to consider since whoever picks up the shotgun first beats everyone else around them. The game sorta works like a multiplayer roguelike with a high luck factor. On my first win, I got 0 eliminations. The storm eliminated everyone.

However, even with the luck, there's skill involved. Whoever buys the Battle Pass will get some good practice in with its challenges. It's why skins are typically better than noskins. There's also a real incentive to play.

I just bought the Battle Pass yesterday, and now I'm a few tiers away from making every single dollar back. It's not too late for anyone playing. It bumped up Fortnite from a 6/10 to an 8/10 for me.

That being said, I don't blame anyone for disliking it, especially if they're playing for free.

There's only one kill that matters in Fortnite.

The guy in second place.

I've won several games with just one kill, but it does get boring waiting around. So I started dropping into Tilted Towers each game and routinely leave the city with at least 4 kills.

Fortnite is freakin fun, get the squad on and try and get some dubs. Unfortunately that doesnt happen to often for me and my group but its still fun af lol
One of my favorite guns is the silenced pistol, absolutely love that thing. Finding a new appreciation for the burst rifle as well. Always used to just disregard it as trash. The only thing thats truly trash is the revolver. They need to get that crap out of the game it does literally nothing

The building is why I disagree. There is zero rng in that, and shotguns remove rng as well. It is there, but I run a play style where it is irrelevant.

your incentive for getting kills in fortnite is their drops. weapons, ammo, and most importantly, their materials. someone looted up with 10 bodies worth of all three of those will have a massive advantage over you in the final circle if you hide all match.
