For Bolthouse Farms Plant Protein Milk, the process begins with harvesting yellow peas and milling them into flour. That flour is processed, separating the pea protein from the fiber and starch. The pea protein is further purified and blended together with water and other ingredients, including sunflower oil and sea salt, as well as vitamins like B12.

how tf do you turn peas into something you could call flour

I don't understand why people add water to mushed up food and call it milk.
There's oat water, pee water, almond water, soy water, cashew water and hemp water.
None of these items contain milk.

Why do they call peanut butter butter? Why do they call cream of tartar cream? Why do they call head cheese cheese?

For that matter why do they call ground up cow corpse pucks "hamburgers"? Or chunks of chicken flesh "chicken fingers". Chickens don't even have fingers

I seriously didn't even know this shit existed until now.
Sounds like another ridiculous way of people trying to make something "healthier" that has its own plethora of preservatives and God knows what else when the original food wasn't even unhealthy on its own. How desperate and naive are us Americans that to eat healthy that we invent new foods that are supposed to automatically make people healthier instead of just understanding the sizes of our portions and adjusting our lifestyle? "If I drink pea milk instead of regular milk but don't change anything else, I'll be healthier!"

It's like that thing a while back when people started using eggs from goddamn cartons. Didn't make a dick of difference, did it? Don't see that shit anymore, do you?

Eggs in cartons are still widely available and regularly used and roughly 2/3 of all people in the world cannot digest lactose.

Also a lot of these milk alternatives arent new at all. Almond milk has been around since the freaking Middle Ages at least

To the bold: Dairy isn't healthy. Aside from most of the world being lactose intolerant, diets high in dairy are more likely to cause issues for people.

Look at the healthiest populations out there: they aren't dairy heavy users

Ok? No one said you had to eat it. I was only responding the claim that dairy is healthy. It's not.

It's also about being healthy while you're alive. You live shorter and you have fewer quality years while being alive. That's not good.

True. But if you aren't happy because of the food you are forcing yourself to eat even if you don't like it, then those years start to feel worthless or like a lot of work. I mean, it's good if whoever likes it and it works for them, but it's not for everybody. Like for me, living longer means nothing if I'm not happy with my food that I have to eat everyday. For me, at least...

That's how I felt before I tried it. Initially I was just going to do a week. Then two. Them a month. Turned out I didn't actually miss those things that much. Now they're no longer appealing.

This is true of many people that adopt plant based diets.

I've gone without cheese before. I was like dying. I couldn't wait until I got it again. I've gone without lots of food lots of times in my life. It happens when you travel a lot. And all that happens is I crave what I can't have for whatever reason. Haha. Plus, breakfast would probably stop being my favorite meal. And it would be hard to eat when I go home... And expensive... Plus pizza.. And I'm lazy... And honestly, I just don't want to...
