Sorry man. I'm in the same boat as you. We'll make it somehow man.

There's no point but what we decide for ourselves. Passing on your genes? Ensuring a legacy? Leaving a lasting footprint? All genuine, admirable goals. For me, it's probably realizing that I'm alive to enjoy what I'm experiencing in this life. Some of it's bad, some of it's good. Life is, and one day will not be. What will happen when I die? Will I go to Heaven? I hope so. Maybe I'll sleep an endless sleep and dream eternal dreams. Or maybe I'll count to one, and become someone else thousands of years later, and the process starts again.

What I know is that I'll never be again. This 'me,' this current 'me' will never occur again. If I was before, I have zero recollection and zero knowledge of it. I was someone completely different in a past life, someone 'I' would possibly hate or possibly love, or possibly have no opinion of at all. And that's a bit melancholic for me...knowing that 'I' will never exist again. And, if I did, I would not know it. Now that's depressing.

The point of living is that, as far as what can be proven, we only get one shot, and there's nothing after. The debate over this could go on forever, and no one can prove anything.

So we must take what we know for a fact, and that is we get a limited time. Some have more difficulties than others, some live only minutes, some 100 years.

What matters is what we do with our limited time. I think that it's better to focus on the good things, experience as much as we can, and try to be good to others. Just because we don't live forever, we shouldn't be angry or sad, we must treasure the time that we get. Make it count. Spending your time worrying about death, or dwelling on how "bad" things are is a waste. We all die, and someone always has it worse. If your life doesn't make you happy, change it. Time is limited, don't waste it, use it wisely.

This is one of the rare instances that "moving the goalposts" is acceptable. Decide what a good life means to you, and get it.

This is my perspective. But what the hell do I know?

I'm dying, that's what. Maybe this year. I don't have much left, so I've given this a lot of thought.

Life is like a long train ride to death. Try to enjoy it but it doesnt really matter.

If i said you could eat shit or filet mignon and it doesnt really matter im pretty sure youd pick the latter.

Those are some good points, but it does matter a bit. Like, you wouldn't go to prison and say, "Oh well, it doesn't matter."
