I can test it, and Windows itself hears me and repeats it back to me. I can use the Voice Recorder app and it works fine. But if I dare try and use it with Discord, Skype, or Chrome, they don't detect a single thing no matter how loud I scream.

Cool. After an hour and a half of troubleshooting, which included restoring to before the Windows update this week, I figured out that any program that needs the mic needs to be run as admin in order to have access to the mic.

WHO AT WINDOWS DECIDED THAT?!

discord and skype work just fine with my mics, no need to run as admin

you got some other issues going on that running as admin just happens to bypass

Well, I don't know what it is then. Cause Windows detects my sounds from my mic. But Discord doesn't detect a single thing unless I run it as admin.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled drivers. Ran updates. Tried to use my mic as both a USB and in the 3.5mm jack in the back of the PC. I've tried other mics, and other PCs. Apart from other PCs not needing to run the programs as admin, nothing changes.

And the only significant thing that has happened since I've used my mic last is that Windows did a big update. But for whatever reason, reverting that update didn't even fix it.

Seems counterproductive to make it so I can't talk to other people when they do that then. All they get then is me screaming at the mic trying to get it to pick stuff up.
