these last couple of weeks, Ive felt like Ive been getting more bitter, resentful and confrontational. i dont know if its been the news, the people Ive been talking to or what. maybe Im just tired, but Ive been complaining non-stop. perhaps its a personal thing, but it might also be that Im realizing that Ive been putting people on a pedestal that didnt necessarily deserve it.

i had a pretty shitty conversation with one of my irl friends this morning that has me feeling particularly like a dick. now i dont want to talk to my url pals because Im worried that Im gonna make myself look like an ass to them.

i dont know if all that makes sense, but im pretty sure that Im making the people that I care about dislike me, and iont really know how to stop it without causing myself a whole bunch of other internal issues.

and sure, this is a basic-bitch insecurity type beat, but idk i feel like everyone worries about stuff like this from time to time and i wanted to get it on paper cause writing stuff helps me think about it.

Well at least you have self-awareness. That's the first step to becoming a better you. Being irrational is a bad trait but no one is perfect and sometimes we just need a breather to gather ourselves and get back to work. Re-lean basic soft skills and patience.

Attitude is a conditioned thing. The more you do it the more habitual it becomes. Eventually you're stuck in a groove where you're subconsciously negative about everything before you even get a chance to think about it.

You just need to make efforts to turn the ship around. Be aware of your mood and attitude as much as you can and start thinking an talking more positively. It's tough at first because you're going against your own programming but it gets easier over time. I'm talking weeks/months.

i dont realky think Im being irrational per se. the things that have been upsetting me are sort of normal things to be upset about. like, the conversation that i had w my friend this morning was a result of him coming to me to like, get a gay persons blessing to listen to homophobic stuff guilt-free. thats kinda shitty. i just need to find a way to avoid this stuff or something.

i started taking some steps to be more positive a month or two ago, but i guess it kinda lapsed when i started getting real stressed for a bit in june. positivity is definitely something i should refocus on though

Serious suggestion: Stop vocalizing your far-left ideas. Unless I'm confusing you with another CEman, I'm pretty sure you're really far left to the point of being confrontational and sucking the joy out of the atmosphere. People don't respond well to that, because it's toxic.

I became that way when I was religious, because I was a reductive thinker. I interpreted everything, every societal trend or mannerism or dialogue, in terms of Christianity (and a strict sin-centric interpretation of Christianity at that) and that just turned a lot of people off. It's the same with SJWism. It's just a secular religion, and it really rubs people the wrong way because of how toxic, exhausting, and debilitating it is. No different than constantly telling someone they're sinful, they need to repent, they need Jesus, etc.

Put it to the test. Stop doing it for a few months and see if you feel better and if the people around you respond better.

I tend to really only cause a real racket when i see bigotry in the forms of racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, etc. Im not going to put that on the back-burner to make other people like me, because I would then hate myself, and thats not exactly productive. Im more than ok with being confrontational on that front, and the majority of my friends are with me on that one.

This isnt about me compromising my system of morality to please folks that dont jive with it, its about me being a petty bitch
