The latest World Cups have cost $15 billion a piece:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economics_of_the_FIFA_World_Cup And unlike the Olympics (LOLympics), the focus is far more narrow, with only a single sport. Why not just stick the bill to football-crazed Latin American & Western European countries and have them pay for this stupid shit. I don't want my taxpayer dollars to be flushed down the toilet in the 2026 US bid, after a 2024 LOLympics that already puts California taxpayers on the hook for any cost overruns. You realize that the US already has all of their stadiums constructed and isnt like Brazil, who really went crazy with spending for 2014/6.
