I've never heard bad reviews of it. The ones I've read go from average to good. Nobody thinks it's amazing, but apparently it's pretty good. It's on my list of games my wife should consider getting me for birthday/Christmas.

Let us know how you like it, Brian. I'm curious.

According to the Shut Up and Sit Down podcast, it isn't great.

They said they will make a video review of it, and I trust them 100% with my board games.

I watched a geek and sundry video explaining it and it seemed insanely complicated, but now that Ive set up the board and read the instructions it makes sense to me

So it is pretty fun. Even my wife liked it a lot despite knowing very little about Fallout. Its a long game, took a good 4-5 hours but it flew by

The game cleverly incorporates pretty much every aspect of the video game in one way or another, and the quests and encounters are fun because most of them give you options about how to complete them based on your characters strengths.

My only real complaint is that the ending of the game is underwhelming. A player has to build up enough influence to take over the wasteland before another play or before one of the factions reaches full strength. This influence is kept hidden from other players though so you dont know if someone is close and the game just suddenly ends by someone abruptly announcing that they have won.

The combat is neat though and playing with a nonfallout player was funny. My wife kept referring to the mutated insect and deathclaw symbols as Pestilence and Ram Demon

9/10 will play again

Can you tame a deathclaw?

Not sure, but there are a lot of companions you can have

It took you five hours? That's too long of a game to keep my wife's interest. How easily could this be put on pause and continued later? Also, how much variety is there so that future games won't feel the same?

About as easy as a game of risk, theres a lot of stuff on the table

Lots of variety, the board is shuffled every game and only revealed as you explore, and there are different scenarios that change which factions are fighting for control. We did the Welcome to the Commonwealth one so we were fighting for control against the Institute and the Railroad
