Despite being a pretty staunch progressive his story is actually the perfect example of what is wrong with the far left nowadays. Idk why more conservatives don't mention him in their rebukes of the left. The TL;DR version is that this university used to have a "day of absence" once a year where minority students wouldn't show up to class, much like the "day without immigrants" that certain cities will have. Well one year someone had the bright idea of instead of minority students choosing not to go to class, they were now saying that it should be flipped and white people were going to be banned from going to class, students and faculty as well. Weirnstein called this out for the racism that it is, and he was then protested by a group of idiots. The story gets worse from there, but ill let you look that up if you wish.

But that's just how I learned about this man. But since then, he's built abdecent following and has been giving lectures all over the country and online as well, and is part of the so called ,IDW or "Intellectual Dark Web" that also includes people like Sam Harris and Jordan Peterson. But being a pretty far leftist himself, it's very enlightening to hear him highlight all of the flaws that the left has. It's usually useless to hear what's wrong from the left from people on the right because they obviously disagree with almost everything and always throw the baby out with the bathwater.

So for anyone else who is a leftist like I am but is trying to steel the self against the pitfalls of liberalism, I highly recommend you look him up and listen to a few of his lectures, they're absolutely brilliant. And he's got some genius lectures that have nothing to do with politics as well, he's a legitimate genius.

Yeah Rogans podcast is where i learned about him as well, tho it was an earlier episode. But yeah his wife Heather is an absolute genius as well.

I enjoy Peterson when he talks about things he's an expert in; but he does tend to veer out of his lane.

Weinstein doesnt; and I have felt a bit of preachiness (if thats a word) from JP the last year or so.

Oh I totally get where you're coming from, but I've heard Peterson explain it in the sense that while he's giving these lectures, were actually witnessing him thinking through these different topics as he goes. Hes taking us to the edge of his understanding and actually watching him reason through these issues and see his understanding grow IRL. Of course this geta him in trouble a lot as it causes him to say things that can be used against him when taken out of context, but it's still great to get a peek into how the mind of someone as brilliant as he is works. But obviously it all depends on what you're looking for.

Weinstein has taught me a great deal using established facts that are almost always undeniable, but Peterson has taken me to the forefront of many different discussions and topics of debate as well as teaching meta truths rather than just scientific facts.

I agree. Rubin doesn't seem all that smart to me, he doesn't seem to have much to offer other than being someone of average intelligence that can be an example of how an average person stacks up against all the geniuses he interviews.

No I'm a leftist but despise SJWs and far leftists of any nature. A lot of that has to do with the lectures of Jordan Peterson and seeing things like what happened to Bret Weinstein at Evergreen university. Ive learned to steel myself against the pitfalls of liberalism and it's made me a far better progressive than I was before, plus I understand the importance of conservatives and how we need both sides to run this country effectively. Ive learned and grown quite a bit the last year.
