One night I bought a Jack Links jerkey stick and after pumping my gas ripped it open and took a bite and it wasnt until after it felt fuzzy in my mouth and tasted awful that I looked at it and saw it was moldy. Ended up hacking it in the garbage can.

Do people actually eat gas station food? I know there was that one funny commercial about gas station sushi. I've heard the food at AM/PM is actually pretty good. But still I am hesitant.

When your on the road for a while here in the midwest sometimes its either gas station food or waffle house

I stick to the packaged stuff. I dont fuck around with stuff made there unless its donuts. Maybe a pizza.

I actually have local chain of gas stations where they have a mini grill place inside. It's a seperate company but they make some nice burritos.

The only negative experience I've ever had with it is when I bought what was meant to be a sweet potato and cashew pie, and it turned out to be some kind of meat pie (fucked if I know what kind). For the record, I'm vegetarian.

I was still very near the station when I discovered this, so I just took it back and asked to swap it for the correct one. They allowed this, no trouble, and even chucked in a second one for free.

Only real bad experience was this place in the middle of nowhere BC when I was on tour with my old band. They were selling chip bags marked "Chyps" with sticky notes. Our bassist was a fucking goober and asked what they are, two East Indian guys running the store who speak almost no English inform us that they are in fact "chips". Bassist buys three bags, they turned out to be some kind of disgusting Yam based chip, and we threw them out at the next stop.
