Turns out it is possible to kill Ocean Palace Lavos on the 1st playthrough of Chrono Trigger, you can abuse Ayla's 9,999 damage but it's not easy to pull off 3 times. I'll be uploading the video shortly and you get the developer's ending.

I can't imagine the grind it'd take to get to level 99 pre-Ocean Palace. I did take a stupidly OP Crono (3 full game runs' worth of tabs) to 1v1 Lavos at the beginning of the game.

Yeah I leveled grind at the Ocean Palace, I still cannot believe I actually killed his first form without prism helms lol.

Did this with Crono/Marle/Robo on DS. Took a lot of grinding in Pre-History; mostly it's a DPS race, outhealing with Marle and setting up Robo to take damage while Crono deals. Haste Helms helped but they aren't available at that point on SNES IIRC.

It'll take a little time to upload my internet sorta sucks, but I'm going to upload the one part that everybody wants to see first then the full version with 2nd and 3rd forms and then the ending, the dream team ending is actually still programmed to trigger even on the first playthrough. XD

Level-ups stop meaning anything around the high 60s.

Things to know, 1st form, no haste, no prism helms, only for now, I'll be uploading the rest tomorrow.

Ayla criticals are 35% and when she hits a critical it's 9,999 damage. She also has a rage band.

I remember that being solo Crono. I guess we did the same thing but you went in over levelled.

I did, I was only leveling to ** for the extra items the master of war gives if you can beat him.

Wait, if you lose the team fight is there a controllable solo Crono fight?

If you lose to the 2nd and 3rd form the bad ending triggers. 1st form just continues the game.
