In case you aren't aware of it:

It's a charity thing for Child's Play charity.

Basically you tweet a message to this and it gives you a job from the wind crystal. That's the only class you can use, all 4 guys must be that class. Then when you get to the water crystal you do another tweet and it gives you another class. You must have 1 guy from the first class and 1 guy from the second class and the other two can be one or the other.

Get a shitty job? Donate a buck or three to charity and they give you a new one.

I got thief and red mage for my first two crystals. Shit kinda sucks.

Blue Mage / Mystic Knight / Bard / Samurai

blue magic is amazing; 2mp vampire is amazing self healing, goblin punch is full back row funsies. Ice Rod was the only way I was able to beat Liquid Flame.

This has given me new respect for bards; random battles are usually confusion song + regen. That'll probably change once I finally master Samurai and rock that multi-OHKO ability.

About to hop into the Forest of Mu. Worst fight to date was probably Archavis. I lack any "power" class (Knight, Ninja, Archer, etc) so my damage output is only so-so, but since everyone has blue secondary my sustain is amazing.

I wanted Blue Mage SO badly. Might pay for it if I do a second run.

I figured bards were one of those classes that is actually awesome but I never got fully into. Only time I remember using one was in some undead dungeon (to get one of the seals for the weapons IIRC) and the hurt undead song wrecked that place.

I'd rather roll from all four crystals and then mod the game to start with all jobs unlocked.

It's more interesting that way.

1/2/3/4 is the traditional way, yeah. Until 2/3/4 are unlocked everyone can be the class rolled from wind crystal. It's not character specific, but after all the jobs are unlocked you need to have one of each job at all times. So once everyone's a master you can shift around to get better secondaries or passives or something.

Otherwise (like with GBA/SNES emulator) you can just randomly get 4 random job classes from all 4 crystals, unlock from the beginning, and just roll with it.

Not exactly, but world 1 is relatively easy anyways. There's a significant chunk of players who tweak the rules to their preference. It's not like the purists are gatekeepers; they just stick to their own thing.

Just understand it makes the game easier because byblos wasn't designed with ninjas being a possibility (e.g.), and the early access to JP makes you hit mastery faster for "endgame" skills like dual wield or X-fight.
