There is no left and right, there's just nationalists and globalists / internationalists who don't care about nation states or borders.

Most of the political establishment in the West are globalists. They tell us over and over that nationalism is a great evil and borders are outdated (except for Israel which has a right to protect itself and preserve its own culture and be picky about who is allowed to live there). The same people control the media too, which controls what most people think and influences their worldview. So we have this fake left v right dog and pony show while the entire West is decaying socially and culturally but that's fine, so long as 'the economy' is doing well (never mind that 'the economy' mostly benefits the elite and the rest of us are getting crumbs from the table).

It takes a lot more than being a liar or verbally trying to undermine checks and balances to be removed. He hasn't personally been found to have dinner anything yet.

It is fun imagining the far right fury if a Democrat said a tenth of what Trump has. The guy has gone so far as to outright ignore vote tallies in a blatant attempt to discredit any opposition. He has implied "true" patriots are loyal to him personally. There is still hope our checks and balances will prevent him from destroying political freedom, but he is trying very hard to get the ball rolling to do just that.

Republicans have successfully weaponized the term 'liberal' into a hated caricature. Trump is using that to get his to thralls to call his enemies the enemies of the country.

I admit I will bow out if I said my piece to avoid getting into feedback loop arguments. I tend to come here to look for topics about the current poll then get sucked into others sometimes.

That said a USA president openly praising an adversary while trying to undermine the credibility of his own country's intelligence agencies is stunningly unprecedented, even on top of his efforts to undermine vote tallies and the justice department.

Imagine if the Crimea situation took place now instead of when Obama was in office. The narrative would've been way different. It wouldve been something like, "blah blah trump is Putin's lap dog and is letting him take over Europe yada yada..."

I still fail to see how any of this has somehow helped Russia. I remember when Romney said Russia was our biggest geopolitical threat and the left laughed at him. But now the left are being told that they're supposed to hate Russia and like any good boy they do what they're told and take what's fed to them by God emperor CNN
