Board 8 > SMT IV is fucking awesome, how is Apocalypse?

I asked you guys how SMT IV was a while back when it was on sale and you guys recommended it. So, I splurged and got it. First mainline game and it is fantastic. I'm loving how much more intense each battle is than the Persona/Devil Survivor series. The actual third person parts are great too, I love exploring each unique area. Production values are super high if you can look passed the world map.

So how is Apocalypse? I'm assuming it reuses a lot of the same assets but is it a completely new game? Does it reuse the same 'dungeons,' third person areas or are they all new? I suspect a sale will come along in the coming weeks and figured I'd ask.Thanks.

Haven't finished the first one yet, probably about halfway through. It's hooked me quite a bit and since I just saw Europe has STMIV Apocalypse on sale I figure NA will soon enough. I'm not trying to get any particular ending, but fairly certain I'm more or less locked on the Jonathon route.

I already liked IV quite a bit, but I thought Apocalpyse was even better. It does reuse a good amount of assets but tells its own story that happens during the events of the Neutral ending.

I'm playing SMT IV right now as well! Really liking it so far.

I think I'm on track to get neutral after having more or less deduced my point total after having tried to keep things balanced but not explicitly tracking it for most of the game.

It seemed like trying to keep track of my point total would be too much for me on a first playthrough and I'm sure I'd inevitably end up spoiling something for myself. I wish I had gone neutral due to more content but we'll see.

All I know about Apocalypse is that people say the final dungeon is one of the worst final dungeons ever. I didnt really love the first game enough to bother getting Apocalypse because I had a lot of issues with it. A lot of the extra stuff can just be so tedious to even try to do and the map isnt good either

Apocalypse is pretty good, it reuses a lot of assets but still has a lot of unique areas/dungeons and some of the recycled ones are changed up or expanded a bit. Its final dungeon *is* ass though

Mechanically speaking, 4A is a straight upgrade. Plot/Characters is more to taste, with 4A trending a fair bit lighter/more anime than 4
