genuinely thought there was a chance of losing everyone. i switched out mnk against Scraggy because i wasn't sure if i could OHKO and mnk would probably die if it took another hit. switched in Bane for that fighting resist but then the Faint Attack caught me off guard. and Bane is again slow as shit so if i stayed in was going to die anyway.

i can't believe we lost Santa to a non-crit fire punch after an Intimidate. wtf

It probably had Hustle, so that and Intimidate would've canceled each other out.

so i was heading to Lostlorn Forest to pick up a new member but there's no way to get in without going through the grass in Route 16.

i actually didn't run into any encounters on the way but on the way back (with a new member from Lostlorn Forest) i ran into an encounter and just ran without thinking.

so yeah. someone missed out on the chance to be a Gothita. rip

okay so since Santa is no more and the others seem to be weak to one attack or another that Elesa has, i'm going in there with the 3 Normals.

Taught Poka and Kira Dig but since Elesa's first two is EMOLGA, that's useless. they're just going to be backup. The hero this time will be Blue the Watchog with his new move, SUPER FANG. Also Hypnosis if it needs to be.

i've just been battling some trainers around the area and we're ready. i'll do the battle tomorrow morning.

Scolipede can be pretty beastly, I'm ok with this. Poison Point is better than Swarm too.

Of course I have to get there first...

Scolipede is my favorite bug! One thing I liked about Gen V was how it made some great bugs.

well i went back to Relic Castle and got a Yamask. Raka, flubbin and mnk are all going to get wrecked because of the coverage Elesa has since Emolga also has Aerial Ace. Looking it up, Emolga has the same base Atk & Sp. Atk so my initial thought that it was special-oriented and that it wouldn't do that much is out the window. It also gets STAB so yeah forgetting about those three.

That means by default, I'm left with Venipede, Munna and Yamask.

I can evolve Venipede. and while I'd like to hold off on evolving Bane because of moves, I do have a Moon Stone available.

Looking into moves:

Bane | Munna
Psybeam | Hypnosis | Lucky Chant | Moonlight
Synchronize

Murphy | Venipede
Screech | Pursuit | Protect | Poison Tail
Poison Point

Star | Yamask

I have a TM for Thunder Wave which Bane can learn. this can definitely be salvaged. lot of status options. Moonlight and Synchronise on Bane could be useful too. that fucking Static last time...

looked it up and Electric types didn't start being immune to paralysis until Gen VI so i
disregard this. since there's no contact anyway bleh

so i'm thinking start Bane, Hypnosis/Psybeam. Moonlight when necessary.

If things go bad, we have Star who can WoW and Murphy can either play clean up depending on paralysis status of Elesa's remaining or even just finish off if low health. maybe even Poison Point could come into effect and we can stall with Protect.

the issue i guess is if the wrong status comes into play...

For what it's worth, Munna's only other good level up moves are TM moves as well, so it's really not terrible to evolve it now. I don't know when you get the Psychic/Calm Mind TMs, though.

oh i didn't know Calm Mind was a TM. yeah there's a good chance i evolve it now then.

stat boosts should help a lot.

Hey wait and I think you should be able to get the Rock Tomb TM from the Desert Resort too.

Oh but nevermind most of your things can't use it, and Musharna can, but 55 Attack, lol.

ok so outside of the few trainers that are in Relic Castle, there's not that many people to battle so i have to grind against wild pokemon.

i fucking hate grinding so it might take me a while to even get the motivation to do it. maybe i'll do it while watching EVO this weekend or something

There are rotating trainers in the sports stadiums aren't there?
