53 y/o Log Cabin Trump Supporter and CVS Manager Morry Matson was FIRED along with another white store manager after he called the police on a female black customer because he claimed she tried to use a PHONY COUPON!!

His career torpedoed faster than you can say Jimmy Crack Corn as CVS Fired him immediately after the incident.

He was recorded TREMBLING on the phone as the company reviewed the incident after Camilla Hudson shared the video on her facebook of him calling the police on her.

He said he didn't recognize the coupon she was trying to use and after the ordeal made national headlines, CVS contacted Camilla to apologize as they said they didn't tolerate discrimination against customers.

Matson's left hand was seen trembling and he's shaking as he called the police at 11:30pm on her who told police "it's a female" and then told them what she was wearing. She was heard saying "Tell them i'll be here when they arrive. You can tell them her name is Camilla Hudson. I have ID and will share it". He then spelled out her name for officers and he says "Exactly, like the river"

He then says she was African American and Camilla says "No, i'm not african american. i'm black. Black isn't a bad word"

Matson then hangs up and retreats to his office.

She was trying to use a CVS coupon which was a free item related to a health issue. She said "I stopped in to make a purchase using a coupon mailed to me by the product manufacturer as replacement for problematic/defective product. The manager on duty said that he'd never seen a coupon like the one i had and said he thought it was fradulent"

When she asked for his name, he became agitated and rude and that's when she started recording him. The other manager who had initially helped her came running out and told her to leave.

Camilla said she had ZERO concerns about the police being called and that they actually HUNG UP on him the first time and he called back a second time.

Matson is running for Chicago City Council and was a state delegate for Trump. He is also the President of the Illinois Chapter of the Log Cabin Republicans, a GOP group that advocates for LGBTrights..

He joins the ranks of other white people including BBQ Becky, Permity Patty, Pool Patrol Paula and others who called the police on black americans

When asked why he was trembling, Morry said he FEARED for his LIFE because Camilla looked "threatening" and did not like that he was being recorded.

Do you think Camilla looks threatening?

Morry - Crybaby

(I had already posted this in other places a couple days ago because I feel really bad for the guy and honestly feel he is the real victim in all of this)

I know full well this is not the popular opinion as far as the media and the Internet and such go, but honestly, I think the manager (especially with all the fallout) is the real victim here.

As someone who worked in retail several years ago there are some things about this incident that are not adding up. Because it's white manager and black female customer, far too many places are far too eager to pile on the cries of racism, even though there is NOTHING to suggest racism had anything to do with this (in fact the manager didn't even mention her race until the dispatcher specifically asked for it). As for the shaking, OF COURSE he wasn't shaking until she started recording and once he realized how ugly this was all going to turn out...and sure enough he has indeed been unfairly branded a rotten evil RACIST all over the 'net. Not to mention some of these same places smearing him as a racist are hypocritically mocking him shaking when that shaking was most likely from a disability of some kind. Last I checked isn't disability just as much a "protected class" as race/color? And more importantly, mocking someone's disability/medical condition is just as if not more morally wrong than racism (even though again, there is nothing to even suggest there are any racism involved).

As for the coupon itself, I'm seeing quite a few red flags on it; it's a free coupon for a pack of adult diapers, a rather expensive item (when I was in retail we had a few fake Doritos coupons among other things so YES even cheap items get fake coupons too) but even more concerning was the (fill in the blank) BRAND with "CVS" appearing like it was stamped on. As for the claims that he "should've known/recognized CVS coupons"...yes he would've if they were real coupons but if indeed he never seen this coupon before and it had these signs of being a fake then he was right to be concerned.

And it just so happened that of all the CVS employees she could've used this coupon on, it just so happened the employee was a Trump supporter looking to run for local public office??? This is only a gut feeling but honestly, I think he was deliberately targeted knowing full well it would only feed into the branding him a racist.

And lastly, again regarding the hand/arm shaking, the letter that has also been circulating that the manager wrote to (Jeff Sessions I think?) mentioned him being "in an ADA family"...so it's quite likely his shaking was from some kind of physical/mental disability...which sadly this incident will no doubt leave him a very broken man.

Bottom line, this man does not deserve all this vilification and fake racism smearing when he was only trying to do his job as best he knew how. Do these people who are increasingly using fake racism/discrimination as a WEAPON realize or even care that they are ruining innocent lives...not to mention making it that much harder for genuine victims of racism/discrimination.

And for all of those who are so eager and getting such a big kick out of ruining this man's life, may I offer the following cautionary tale. Anyone can just as easily end up like this man...even and perhaps ESPECIALLY if you didn't even do anything wrong:

Oh yes...not only ruin the guy over fake racism...but far too many of them are also doubling down and hypocritically mock/ridicule his disability/medical condition and being in an ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) family.

And right on cue, the only responses I get are ad homenium attacks. God forbid I don't play along with the internet vigilante mob who is so eager to crucify the poor man when there is nothing to even suggest he is a racist or any racism is involved.

Having a disability doesn't give you an excuse to be an asshole. I'm in a family with a disabled person too and he doesn't act like a dumb piece of shit.

If he used his corporate training he would have accepted the coupon, taken her info and then sent it to their department that handles fraud prevention. Instead he called the police because he was afraid of being filmed by an "intimidating" looking woman. I wonder what made her look intimidating? Oh I know, she's black.

You must be into yoga because you're doing a loooot of stretching in your post to defend something that is entirely indefensible.

You're doing the exact same thing to the woman that you say people are doing to the man. You had a whole paragraph about the coupon "looking" fraudulent but you have no proof it was and in fact in all actuality likely wasn't because CVS hasn't done anything to press any type of charges against this woman. So you're making up lies about what a fraudster this woman is trying to buy adult diapers for a medical condition while railing on people saying this guy appears racist for calling the cops on her because he's "intimidated" due to her appearance and his belief she's using a fraudulent coupon, which the police wouldn't even handle at this juncture in the investigation.

not true. I actually thought you were maybe joking at first until I finished reading your post and realized your being serious

the idea that every single republican is evil and racist and scum, is why there is such a huge hate divide between democrats and republicans right now. maybe tone it down. and maybe try to understand the various reasons why people might have voted for trump. and keep in mind this was before he became president and that some of those people wouldn't now vote for him a 2nd time, after getting a taste of his presidency. the world is not black and white. everyone is not a saint or a demon. and you cant just brand half the country as evil. in e very election, there are countless reasons to motivate a person to vote the way they do, and you claiming to know that everyone that voted a specific way was all 100% for the same reason, is ignorant

anyway my point is that nobody should brand an entire group as all the same. or evil when you don't know all the facts. when it comes to voting there a million factors on what makes someone vote how they vote. you don't know. so don't act like you do. there are people in my own family who voted on both sides. and for various reasons. It's a reach regardless. Race isn't a fall back reason for why anybody does anything and you know it. Is it really so hard to just leave it at "he acted stupidly for no apparent reason" rather than questioning their character?

You don't know him or her and you weren't at the situation, there's all kinds of silly reasons and misunderstandings why people do and say stupid things.

My main point above all else is that there is indeed "no proof" that the man was in anyway racist nor that racism was even involved at all...but yet the internet lynch mob is crucifying him as a rotten evil racist anyway. OF COURSE neither CVS nor the company that (allegedly) issued the coupon is going to even suggest it's fake because all they're concerned about is avoiding any bad PR. I'm not "making up" any lies at all...I am just very concerned that this poor man will be completely broken emotionally (and I'm sure it won't help his physical disability/condition either) when he has done NOTHING racist and he does not deserve to be treated like one and have his life ruined.

Remember all the stories in the past where it seemed like a customer/employee wrote bad messages on receipts but it turned out to be a fake? That was not found out or called out by the company...it took independent internet sleuths to do that...and that's what needs to be done here to confirm the coupon one way or the other. And why am I not at all surprised that a witness has now come forward to say that the woman's story is not exactly as she insists?

Where are you getting the info on him having a disability? Maybe I keep reading over it or something. But I don't see that...

And why are you so positive the coupon was fake. It could be. But probably not. I think if the company knew, they probably would say something. New coupons are made all the time. And when I worked retail, I know that not everybody knew ALL the coupons.

Idk. I'm not saying he was racist. But he probably didn't handle this correctly at all. Jen is right that he should have probably just taken her information and let the fraud department handle it.

Calling the police because a coupon might be fake... I suspect they would have likely handled this better had the customer been white.

yeah but you always do that if a white dude is involved so i feel like you're kind of biased.

Not only was he shaking (which sadly I do sometimes because of my own mental/emotional disabilities) he mentioned in a letter that he was in a "ADA family" (Americans with Disabilities Act).

The red flags I saw on that coupon were that it was a FREE! coupon for a rather expensive item (adult diapers...ask any parent how expensive baby diapers can get!!) up to $18...and the (fill in the blank) BRAND section with "CVS" stamped on it. The plainish looking paper is also not a good sign. All of those taken together really makes the coupon look strongly suspect. When I was in retail several years back I distinctly remember us getting a few fake Doritos coupons; YES even cheaper items can get fake coupons too.

Did he handle the situation/transaction perfectly? Probably not. But he absolutely positively does NOT deserve to have his life ruined over this. PERIOD.

Calling the cops may have been a bit dramatic but he was still doing his job right. For all he knew she could of been screwing them over with a fake coupon. Her race shouldn't matter at all. If she was white or even Asian for that matter I bet this wouldn't be a headline at all.

I feel like ever since the Starbucks ordeal we see more and more of this crap.

It's going to get to the point where we see a headline like "Convenience store manager fired after calling cops on black man who stole drinks and candy!"

Give someone an inch they'll take a mile.

Indeed, discrimination laws and such are supposed to be there to help and protect genuine victims and cases of discrimination. They are NOT there to be used as a weapon to knowingly destroy innocent people's lives!!

For God's sake, whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty? Whatever happened to the punishment fitting the crime (if indeed there was a crime at all!)?

No one that isn't a racist piece of shit did that. Trump is a racist traitor and so is everyone that voted for him

Not every republican, I said every trump voter. fairly certain that the number of people that didn't vote contained a sizable portion of Republicans that couldn't bring themselves to vote D. But were also intelligent reasonable people that said never trump.

Why are you so sure the coupon was fake? Maybe they did give her a free coupon if she was a member for so long. I myself just paid less than $60 for two medications that cost over a hundred dollars each because I have one as well. No insurance.

So many assumptions. I really hate how the court of public opinion makes these kind of assertions now. Just because there is a situation that involves a black person and a white person doesn't mean racism has to be the driving force. It could just be that the guy was a dick

Also, TC always says the person was a trump supporter in these kinda stories. I kinda think he's just making shit up

you just don;t know my mom. if you met my mom you would realize that even voting for trump doesn't make someone evil. I dont' think you realize that people who you would never expect to vote for him have voted for him. and it's because not everyone votes for him for the reason you assume. I bet you know very nice people who you think are amazing humans. and they actually voted for trump

She said she got the coupon because the item was defective. So, I don't think it really matter how expensive the item was. If it was defective and they sent her a coupon, then that's that. You can say it looks fake if you want. But that doesn't mean it is.
