I love the time period and I've read a lot of sagas and I have a major Norse Religion thing, but I just can't get over how awful Travis Fimmel is. He is the least fit actor to play a Viking I've seen in a long time. It honestly annoys me that it's like the perfect set up for a show for me, but one actor ruins it. Travis Fimmel was unbearable, but it was otherwise okay. There was some sloppy writing in parts, too ("Oh, my brother betrayed me! Guess I'll forgive him! Oh, there he is with a knife heading for my back again! What a rascal") and the dialogue came off ridiculously modern for a show so stepped in mythology and the sagas.
