....but i already have the x collection on ps2 (legit), and have all the x games on my pc (uhhh, not as legit).

the new x collection comes with the cool new two boss mode, though.

The PS2 collection doesn't come with X7 and X8, and in the new collection X5 is properly translated.
Just get it. PS2 Collection is obsolete. Just sell it.

eh, I wish nintendo had some sort of trophies. the closest i've gotten to getting all trophies in a game is dark souls 3. but I would have to grind out covenant items for those last few trophies. not worth it to me.

Mega man X Collection on PS2 is going for $6 on Amazon. Damn, wish I had sold it before the new collection was announced.

I'm glad I got the Gamecube version when I did. I ended up selling it for twice what I paid for.

The X Collection on PS2 has always been cheap as shit, I got it new for $12 a year ago. The gamecube version was always the expensive one.

honestly, no shame in playing these games on easy mode. they kinda take awhile to get good at. I still have nightmares about fighting sigma in X4 *shudders*

May get it after a price drop. I have all the originals except X3, also have the PS2 collection. The first 2 or 3 games aren't hard at all and I'd replay them.

I was reading something on Ars and even they act like MMX is tough. I know I played it a bunch and can complete it using the buster alone (almost, couple spots require a subweapon) but of all the games that's definitely the easiest. Once you get the dash of course.

Same here. I loved the game as a kid and have played through it many times.

Mmx is probably the easiest in the series, it has the most simple and exploitable AI. Mmx4 is a close second on the easy scale, it has better enemy intelligence but x and zero are so freaking strong and agile that you can easily steamroll the entire game in one sitting.

For a long time I used the A button (on SNES) to dash. I only recently realized it's much more comfortable to use a shoulder button.

Oe maybe it's just that my hands are bigger than they used to be, so using just the face buttons feels much more cramped now.

I was never really super fond of OG megaman. Probably my least favorite of the various series.

Yeah, I always change my controls so dash is on L(1) and my sub weapon is on R(1). I normally double tap to dash, unless it's a wall jump dash. I think the sub weapon is normally on triangle, and it's kinda hard to use both triangle and X (jump)

i know, i saw that.

I'm justing asking if you feel that way about the playstation controller since the button layout and basic shape are basically the same, but more comfortable, imo.

I'm not sure about the Ps1 controller - it's been a while, I think the problem with it is that it was difficult to double tap the d-pad quickly

Maybe not. This could be 'just me' too but it feels like the SNES buttons are ever so slightly closer together. I was able to hold a charge shot while jumping and dashing. Think the last time I tried (through emulation on a different controller) I was using the double tap to dash.

Stick with the PS2 collection. X7 and X8 suck anyway.
