I always just did things in whatever random order I felt like aside from the obvious Chill Penguin first (outside that time I did a no-dash run). I don't use the sub weapons on bosses (...or much in general really) because I feel like it trivializes them too much, so I don't need to worry about having a bosses weakness before I do their stage.

I always get the Dash first, but after beating the game a few times I started trying to do it in a different order every time (not necessarily killing Chill Penguin when I get the Dash). I've even done it in reverse order so that I have to use the Buster against every boss. It's good times.

Beat Gravity Beetle and the carrier mid boss that drops the crates won't show up in Blast Hornet's Stage

Beat Blast Hornet and the metal crates that used to be in Gravity Beetle's stage will no longer be there, allowing you to grab the Life Up/Heart Tank. By also defeating Blast Hornet, the Head Gunner customer enemies (the 2 legged red enemies that shoot missiles) become the weaker Head Gunner masspro enemies (the 2 legged green enemies that shoot missiles) and will show up in the rest of the other stages except for the Doppler levels.

Beat Volt Catfish and the lights in Blizzard Buffalo's stage will flicker.

In Flame Mammoth's stage, you know that sub tank?

DId yall know you can get that WITHOUT the helmet?

Apparently getting the helmet enables you to destroy those blocks above you

I know it sound stupid and obvious but I always thought getting the helmet just enabled you to destroy those blocks Period

you still need the helmet to get the armbuster since you can't get to THOSE blocks from the side, but as long as X can kick them, they'll break

So yea, my instincts kicked in

I go Chill, cause Armor part, duh

Eagle for easy sub tank and heart

Then mammoth because I have his weakness, easy heart and sub

then with the flame I can claim the helmet in eagle and the heart in chill

then I can go back with the helmet and get the buster

then that trifecta is done

I think I usually do Boomer afterwards so I can get the heart using the ice sled and so I can get Spark's sub tank afterwards

going this way though, Sting is gonna be last, and thats weird because he has the armor upgrade

but because you don't need anything to get it, I suppose I can just drop in at anytime I want, get it, then die or try to beat him. Hes slightly tougher than the rest with just the buster and low HP

You don't need Flame Mammoth's weapon to get the helmet, you can just shoot through the propane tanks with the buster.

I know it makes the hit noise when you shoot it, but I assumed because of the big flame icons you needed it

I got the energy and dropped down to kill myself and I was under the impression you had to do this like 3 times

I've never known that to be a condition, but I've made sure to have full health on my second attempt

I'm now down to 3 lives from 9 and its still not showing up

your gamecube one doesn't have Mega Man X7 or X8, and it was likely not cheaper than 40 dollars

and I only had to pay $20 for the X games that are actually worth playing so being split worked out well for me

For $20 you get either x1 through X4 or X5 through X8 depending on your preference plus the X challenge mode which is mostly the same in between each version but has a few differences

I assume the Galleries and whatnot are the same between the versions but I haven't actually checked them out yet

You aren't alone! I just realized the same thing on my recent playthrough, because I forgot the boss order and went to Flame Mammoth after Chill Penguin. I was mildly surprised I could break those blocks.

You need to do it 5 times. Also, you don't need to kill yourself - you can just exit the stage and do it again. It's been a while since I last played X, but I'm guessing the point of killing yourself is to get a closer checkpoint or something?

I said I had max lives

so that means 9

and then I said I did it again

so thats 18

then on the third run, I only had to do it once, so thats 19

and I killed myself on the 19th run, so its definitely okay to do that

so yea, I most definitely did it at least 5 times

yeah I bought MMX Collection for like $10 at GameStop, but if the original release price ends up being the same then I get what you all are saying. it just seems weird to split up a collection like this when it's obviously so incredibly easy to put these games on one disc. but Capcom gonna Capcom

This is probably a dumb question, but just to make sure, you didn't like stop at some point(s) and reload the game in between tries or anything?

Also, are you playing this on the Switch? If not, you should have recorded this! (unless you can record stuff on switch too; dunno, since I don't have one)

Most first party games can record your last 30 seconds of gameplay to upload to Twitter or Facebook but this one most likely doesn't have that feature

the xbone dvr is weird with this game

I recorded footage of me getting the arm upgrades early in X2 and the audio is all out of sync

but no, I did not record myself doing that because I was more pissed off at the time
