The Master. His lore is very interesting, and I wish Fallout 1 and 2 would get remade to play like today's fallout... but they'd more than likely fail, if they tried.

How do Fallout 1 and 2 play? I know its isometric which I don't mind but how does combat work?

The main thing that stops me from playing is seeing pics of those uncanny valley 3D models when you talk to people.

What?! Those 3D models are what make the game awesome lol. And it's turn based. If you've played old D&D games on PC, then you'd be fine with the combat. That's usually what turns most people off, though, but the story and characters are what make the first two so great.

I agree with the Master.

I'm not a fan of the final result (the multiple voices thing just came off as goofy and annoying more than scary) but I've always been a fan of a character physically and mentally mutating, especially into something as body-horrific as the Master.

I've always wanted a turn based wrpg kind of game though I'd prefer one set in a more fantastical setting

But when I was a little kid my dad put a weird game on the family computer from a demo disc or something, it had uncanny valley graphics that really freaked me out as a kid but I don't think it was meant to be scary. Anyway the fallout graphics awakens those feelings of dread

Well, there are quite a few places in both games that instill that "dread" feeling very well. The soundtrack adds to that, too, and to me, the creatures were a little more disturbing/disgusting in those two versus the newer ones. Maybe it's because I was young at the time and it affected more then than it would now.

I always thought it was interesting that the Fallout world never developed the Microprocessor, and instead continued using vacuum tubes and atomic energy.

I agree I feel the origional games had a more rustic feel too. Like the vibe I get from the first game is what makes it amazing to me. I feel like the newer games play on the retro futuristic thing way harder than the OG games did. The old games had a lot of 70s and 80s post apocalyptic film inspiration as well.
