Although I thought it was really dumb that we suddenly had a character who was hammonds partner that weve never heard about until now just so that there could be a subplot about his daughter so that there could be someone at the end to push the stupid button to unleash dinosaurs into the modern world without seeming like a total piece of shit adult

I found annual numbers, but nothing showing individual movies. In 2002, over 1.5B tickets were sold. In 2017, only 1.225B tickets were sold. The numbers fluctuated around 1.1B to 1.5B.

At any rate, looking at tickets sold is a better way to compare movies than earnings, because ticket prices continually increase as well as the value of money.

I agree with OP. I'll watch it on someone else's dime if I ever feel like wasting my time. Even JP3 was better than these two. And no, the amount of money it made (or didn't) has nothing to do with that.

Sales =/= quality

I'm sure someone will charge that with emotive thinking, so let me clarify in saying that high sales doesn't mean high quality. High quality doesn't mean high sales. The same can be said for low. In addition, quality is a very subjective thing and it's still possible to find something with value but without much enjoyment of it and vice versa.

Only because ticket sales clearly wouldn't show an improvement. Some years, as provided, are worse than previous years. And if your business isn't improving, it's not much of a business. Most places expect for managers to at least strive for continually increasing sales, either monthly, quarterly or annually.

Inflation and increases in ticket prices don't change the fact that that's a 775% profit margin. Sure, other movies have been more successful than that, but to call a series extinct because it's only managing to make 8 times what it cost to produce is absurd. They are unambiguously successful movies.

Now, this does not mean you have to like them. You're perfectly free to like or not like movies regardless of how successful they are. Just don't confuse "I don't like this" with "this was a flop and the series is dead now," because your opinion has virtually no bearing on how successful a movie is.

It's either because he's a christian or because he gave his cat away to another family when he had a kid.

Usually that's what people cite. Doesn't matter that he works with multiple charities and visits sick kids and what not. All that matters is that he gave up a cat.

I have friends who work in film/television in LA, so I hear a lot of stuff.

Pratt is apparently decently okay with his costars, and hes great with fans, but Ive been told he likes to make anyone less than that (assistants and no-name workers) feel like shit, and is generally an asshole to them

I know it sounds sketchy, but these are the same people who told me about Kevin Spacey being gay waaaaaaay before the scandal broke out.

Of course, when they told me about it, they made it sound really cute (I believe the words they used were a friend told me that he saw Spacey go to a party with two young male escorts. Well, Im sure he does being gay as great as he does being an actor!!!)

Truthfully, a lot of these things are very open secrets out there. Its how Family Guy was able to predict Caitlyn jenner being trans almost 10 years before she officially came out
