When I would visit my ex girlfriend at the hospital she worked at it was quite common for people being brought in from car accidents and such literally beg not to be treated because they didn't have insurance. Medical debt is the leading cause of debt in "the greatest country in the world" a few years ago 40% of Americans gained a medical debt.
