It's pretty dull in terms of gameplay, considering you can just autoplay quests and shit, so there isnt a whole lot to do other than upgrade gear and skills.

They did however really nice work with the art and the music. All the animations and characters are spot-on.

Reminder that the first Maplestory was at one point a game where it took 20+ hours of pure grinding for one level, with rental microtransactions to level/loot faster, which then implemented a literal real-money gachapon machine in-game that would mostly dispense utter dogshit but would occasionally dispense stuff like white scrolls and other items with a value measured in multiples of the maximum number of mesos a character could hold.

They changed the grinding thing, but the P2W gacha remains to my knowledge.

I downloaded it. It's fun to play when you feel like playing it, and if you don't feel like playing it at the time, you can auto through stuff. I don't see myself actively playing it more often than Girls Frontline or Fire Emblem Heroes, but I like it so far.

Actually way back then, it was commonly going for 600k. It wasn't til like a few months later where it was going for like 2.2 mil, and I didn't care anymore about the game

Theres a server in Maplestory where you cant buy any in-game advantages with real cash, only pets at most. Evan skills are sold at an NPC for like 100k.
