I'm confused. Pretty new to blender, and unsure of why something isn't working as expected. Can anyone tell me why the angles of the edges on this model aren't showing up as expected when I toggle the "Edge Info: Angle" option?

jz7IlJh

All 3 of the other stats show up just fine when I toggle them, but it just so happens that edge angle is exactly the thing I'm looking for.

You gotta put the cover on it or else your strawberry daquiris will go everywhere.

Hope this helped.

I can help you!

...give up. Or at least that's the approach I took with Blender.

literally getting these angles is my end goal at this point

Like it's all I actually need out of this is those numbers

Try 4chans technology board. There might an amateur developer general you can ask. Or maybe the /vg/ board

I guess I'll try that I've never really considered 4chan for something like this tbh.

Pretty much. I need to know the angles between each face.

Ok I checked and you actually have to go into edge select mode and select the edges to show their angles. Since you wanted the angle between 2 edges tho, you should use this tool: https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/dev/interface/ruler_protractor.html lmk if you have other questions.

I have done it with the edge selected, and I am getting 0 data to show up. am I incorrect in assuming that "edge angle" means the angle between two faces connected at an edge?

huh thats strange... here it is working for me: (I noticed you just have the corner vertices selected in your screenshot)

ystOHMT

and yes, this display option just shows the angle measured from the axis of each edge, so not very helpful here. You should use the protractor tool and snap to the edges you want. Blender is really not very intuitive lol

I truly don't understand what I'm doing wrong, I've tried selecting everything, deselecting everything, nothing works. I'm gonna send you a PM with the blender file, do you think you could look at it? I'm so confused.

Thanks dude, you're a fucking legend. So the issue was that the polygons weren't actually connected to each other technically and had no shared edges? Weird and dumb. Thank you so much for fixing.

I think so yeah, I've never actually run into that cuz everything is usually connected when I build stuff. I used 'remove doubles' to merge the overlapping vertices and then recalculated outside normals to fix everything :0 and you're welcome! i'm happy to help
