Ever been to these boards on here where people are taking about how long they've played a game and see responses like "150 hours!" "Only got 200 hours, probably can get in 100 more", "250 hours easily"

Don't these people have jobs? School? Do they leave the house?

I too thought it was unrealistic until I played an open world game. There's something about those games that turns you into a zombie.

I can't get into open world games at all. At least full open world games. I lose interest in anywhere from 2-10 hours and shut it off permanently.

Because if the former then I don't see the problem. As a teen I spent hundreds of hours on the gta trilogy and San andreas alone over the course of what like 6 or 7 years.

I remember we'd have sleepovers and just do nearly all night of gta, taking turns doing all the silly sandbox stuff that the ps2 trilogy was so perfect for.

If you get the right job you can dump a lot of hours into games at work.

Usually I get annoyed after 3 or 4 hours even back in my prime.

- Some games are extremely long and / or hard

- Some games are really open-ended

- Some games can be replayed a lot

- Lack of new games to play, so people keep playing some other game a lot

I haven't got many games I've got 200+ hours on, but I've got some. NiGHTS, Goldeneye, and some others.

Most people have free time. What difference does it make if youre reading a book, watching TV, staring at your phone, or playing a video game?

A lot of the time, I will play my switch while the TV is on or something.

I have close to 1000 hours on Persona 5. People just talking about how many total hrs they put in game, it doesn't mean they play for 200 hrs straight lol

Sometimes people choose to dedicate their free time to games. Others aren't motivated or interested for whatever reason so they use their time on other stuff.

The average worker should have like 5 hours free a night on a decent day.

200 hours playing a game isn't much if you've played it for several years

GTAV has been out for 5 years and I probably have close to 200 hours in it because I play maybe 2 hours a week on and off

If you count saves I can say I have like 30,000 hrs in OoT.

Still have my saves from Feb 1999 I still fool around with sometimes.

Whenever I see a topic like this I look to see how much I put in Madden and then I get depressed. Not gonna look, maybe later, but it's easily 500+ the last two years.

Night time. Wife and kids go to bed not much else to do. Easily get a few hours in at night, not hard to rack up hours.
