My son (3yrs old) is playing the LEGO Jurassic Park game upstairs on the TV off my steam account on my gaming PC. He needed help so he came down into the office where my husband, my 5yr old son & I were gathered. My 3 year old asked my 5 yr old for help. They are so sweet.

just saw this on reddit

is anyone watching the 3 year old?
why is he playing games by himself in a room upstairs it sounds dangerous like 3 year olds need supervision of some kind.

My 3 year old, bout 4 year old is in another room quite often. Really not a big deal.

My 7 year old plays that game a ton. He's pretty damn good at it, shown me a few things.

I guess it depends on the child, but in general I wouldn't be exactly comfortable leaving a 3 year old by themselves. That's pretty young imo

My son is 4 and hes been venturing around the house himself since 3. But, if hes playing any sorta video games hes monitored the whole time. Cause that's my shit. Lol.

If hes making noises and such I tend to leave him alone...when hes quiet, that's another story.

As someone who grew up on video games and the internet, I also think it's sad that they are all just playing games. Like, all of them. In different rooms. That's not healthy development.

The three year old has learned how to problem solve to the best of his abilities. I don't see how that fails to be a sign of healthy development.

You're focusing on one minute aspect of child development... and human development as a whole.

Well anyway it's not completely fair for me to judge this family but I just saw it on reddit and thought it looked absurd.

And you're generalizing based on one tiny occurrence.

Did you not have a room or something when you were a kid? Why do the parents need to be handcuffed to them

This is a really weak argument, so... yeah.

Now that you mention it, I didn't until I was like six or so.
