I'm sure you get some top notch rewards for some of the later hunts, but is there any kind of reward for completing all of them?

I'm playing through and realizing how short some of these chapters are. I was doing hunts for a while and then went back to the story and was like whoa, majority of the time I've been playing is due to hunts

Now I'm kinda sick of them and just want to finish the game lol

Worth completing hunts?

Unless you're one of those people who plays games just for trophies, I can't imagine why you would complete all the quests and hunts.

you don't even need to beat everything for all the trophies. I platinum'd it and still have stuff I never finished, though some of it might have been added in patches/DLC later

Speaking of DLC, is the DLC worth getting? I'm in Chapter 8 right now and I'm enjoying the game well enough but not in a "this game is awesome" kinda way. I can't imagine that I'll care enough to play the DLC after I finish the game

Yes. Thats 99.9% of the game. Theres basically no story, so if you dont to all the fetch quests, you may have a 10 hour game.

There's a few with great items you get from them. That giant bird atop the volcano for maxed out top tier spells (flare, plasma and freeze or whatever). One or two item upgrades (mid game weapon near the end of chapter 3 iirc) for gladio. Unlocking more hunts. Recipe stuff available via that hunt or buying it late game. That's about it

For DLC I liked the Ignis one, mostly because it felt like it was supposed to be part of the main game to begin with, and Comrades was a decent little diversion if you can appreciate the idea of making your own character and fighting FF monsters. Gladio and Prompto were pointless filler, especially if you're playing the current version of the main game that allows you to play as them.

The character chapter dlc is hit or miss. The gameplay for each one is different from the main game so you may outright dislike it. The only one I enjoyed playing through was Ignis. The story of each is interesting enough but you can just YouTube it I assume.

The online mode is kind of interesting though. It's like a weird Monster Hunter spin off that's not as good. I liked it but didnt stick with it too long. The load times used to be awful but I hear it's fixed now.
