This is the guy who turns up randomly on my door step with entire pork bellies and steaks fresh from the butcher shop he works at, for no reason. Same guy who checks in on all the grannies around the town to make sure they're all doing ok. Same guy who was out shovelling snow last winter from 8am till 4 in the afternoon so that people in wheelchairs and buggies could use the paths ok.

I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy, but of all the fucking people for this to happen to? Jesus fucking Christ.

This always gets me depressed. Like I wouldn't want bad shit like this to happen to anyone, but when it does happen and it happens to the truly amazing people, it's far more tragic.

This is why I'm in support of using "Jersey Barriers" that are coated with LINE-X and staked into the ground via Epoxy coated Rebar along with having tar / super adhesive on the bottom of the barrier to keep vehicles from crossing over Bicycle Lanes / HOV Lanes / Median dividers / etc.

If every lane that was solid Yellow / White that wasn't supposed to be legally crossed over, we should install one of my "Enhanced Jersey Barriers".

It's a one time cost, but it literally would save lives everywhere since vehicles are unlikely to cross over.

Helmet isn't guaranteed to save you depending on how she was hit, how fast was the vehicle, what angle she was hit, where she was hit, etc.

The standard Bicycle Helmet was designed for falls to the ground off the bicycle.

That's terrible. Similarly, my friend's brother's friend had the same thing happen to him recently. Granted, they were riding bikes at night on a busy 4-lane road. Remember guys, look out for bikes and pedestrians. There isn't only just cars out there on the road <_<

So yeah, really go help him out if you can.

Obviously we don't know what the joke was, and that probably matters. But I remember as a kid my grandpa died suddenly and my family was all sad but then we started telling jokes to cheer ourselves up and one of my relatives got all mad when they heard us laughing, and so to this day I really don't like it when people say "Hey don't laugh or attempt to laugh!". Let people laugh if they want to laugh. It's just laughter. People do it for a reason.

Just cause you grieve through humor doesn't mean everyone else does. When it's about something that happened to someone else, your "preferences" mean shit
