Kind of curious where we're at on this now. When I was a kid I couldn't imagine living without TV but now that we're in an age where most shows worth watching are being locked behind streaming services anyway, the actual television portion of owning a TV is feeling less and less significant IMO. --- Let the voice of love take you higher, With this gathering power, go beyond even time! ... Not anymore
Getting my own Netflix account when I go back to Qatar because I feel bad borrowing my old housemate's Been watching a bit at home, and it's nice as a central social thing for the family when we're eating dinner or later in the evening, but I don't feel like I'm missing very much not having it. I identify the shows I want to watch and watch them through whatever means at times that suit me. I do miss it for sports, because TV is far, far more reliable than internet streaming when it comes to watching football. But that's all. --- Not to be confused with XIII_Stones. ... Outside of like the local/world news, I rarely watch anything live (I only have a digital antenna). Usually just downloading and streaming files from the computer to the TV or Netflix.

I watch a bit. I'll watch a bit of the news (local stuff, national just angries the blood), and there's some digital stations that play old things. Also PBS, there are some things worth watching there.

Streaming only
I probably watch about as much TV as I did as a kid, really. It's just on the computer instead. The raw time I spent watching was higher as a kid, but I watch way more stuff now. 2x speed, no ads, and of course picking exactly what I want to watch helps a lot. --- _foolmo_ 2 + 2 = 4 ... Right now is the first time I've watched scripted TV with commercials since... Whenever the Better Call Saul season 3 finale was.

I cancelled it a long time ago and I honestly kind of missed it. It's awesome having everything you want at your fingertips with Netflix or Crunchyroll or whatever, but I always feel like I need to pay attention and watch things in order when I do that stuff, and sometimes that's just not really what I want. I like just channel surfing and finding something cool and watching that. Sometimes it's an out of order episode of Friends or Big Bang or Pawn Stars or some shit that I've seen before but it's all that I want.
I especially like this when I'm reading or playing on my 3DS or something. I like to have something I'm only half paying attention to on, and I would NEVER do that with something I specifically chose to watch on Netflix. If I've chosen to watch a show in order, then I gotta pay attention or I'll be annoyed for missing stuff. With channel surfing, there's no guilt! One of the people I live with needs his sports channels so we got cable back for that, and I'm glad to have it. I'd miss it if I didn't have it. I don't use it on a daily basis, but I like having it when I want it. Is it worth the price just for that? I dunno. If sports guy moved out, I can't say for sure if we'd keep it going. I'm curious to see what happens when the inevitable day comes where channels as we know it no longer exist. Will everything be on demand netflix style? Will random queue channels become a thing? Will channel surfing completely become a thing of the past? Who knows. --- The batman villians all seem to be one big joke that batman refuses to laugh at - SantaRPG ... Copied to Clipboard!

I watch sports and some news, but in the spirit of the question (or at least the way I think you mean it to be perceived), gotta answer no. I only weekly show I follow is Better Call Saul, and that gets downloaded.
