However he then smokes 2 more after each of these occasions, which brings his grand total to 24 smoked joints.

Good point, that would bring his total to 26. 30 of you add the 2 before and 2 after.

However were not factoring in that smoking 2 joints before smoking 2 joints and then smoking two more are, in themselves, new occasions of smoking two joints, which possibly creates a scenario of infinite joints.

i think you are underestimating how often a time of peace happens. whenever he isn't at war he is at a time of peace. he is constantly smoking 2 joints 2 with 2 before and 2 after. so the question is how quickly can he consume a joint?

real answer is 2 joints in his mouth at all times of the day.
