Either you accept that they had no other choice, or you accept that the 17mil+ outcomes that Dr. Strange saw only one of which had a win, were not all the possible outcomes. Perhaps if he had seen the infinite number of possible futures, he would have seen other winning outcomes with much better results and they would have pursued those other paths. However, the movie seems to suggest that he saw all the possible futures and there was no other choice. Ends up telling him after seeing Nebula being tortured despite Nebula even giving her signs to not tell him. Nebula + Mantis: For even telling Peter about Gamora before they could get the gauntlet off. Also Nebula did nothing to help while everyone else was either holding him down or trying to get the gauntlet off.
