If you have to move the cable to charge it, that means the charging port connector's contacts have broken loose. Simple enough to fix. Just a couple seconds with a soldering iron.

I have 2 original chargers and im lucky enough to have an orignal 1200ma battery. When I tried the second charger I guessed the problem likely is with the console.
Ive never taken it apart. And have basically no experience with soldering. I love this thing, i got it this year as my first psp and I dont wanna kill it --- I use inverted controls. I found on one of mine (I have a couple for use with homebrew etc and current games) that the yellow plastic spacer on the end of the plug that goes into the PSP was a problem, it charges fine after I removed most of the material so it connects closer to the metal. Also, getting a better capacity battery is a must, the originals weren't fantastic.
