SACRAMENTO (CBS13) A Trump supporter claims he was attacked by the lead singer of a punk rock band when he jeered the frontmans political statements.

Tim Hildebrand of Galt says the attack happened at a Social Distortion concert at the Ace of Spades in Midtown. Hildebrand says he grew up listening to the bands music and was excited to attend one of their shows, but never thought hed leave bloody and bruised at the hands of a famous musician.

Hildebrand says the singer started badmouthing President Trump and America and the Republican farmer from Galt didnt like it.

I stood pretty much with my silent protest with my middle finger up for the next two songs.

Ness didnt like that and in the video, you can see him motion Hildebrand to the stage, where the singer spits in his face. Hildebrand says the two were yelling at each other when Ness lunged toward him.

Takes his guitar off, jumps off the stage and proceeds to punch me multiple times in the head.

So he got butthurt about Trump being called out so he gave the singer the middle finger for two straight songs instead of leaving? Sure he didn't deserve to get punched, but let's not say he was completely innocent here.

Because he paid for their music.

Why is it so hard to understand that some people just want to listen to music and not get into politics? Even if it's a punk rock scene...it's really stupid that some damn fine music has to be coupled with something that's going to alienate half of your potential fanbase.

You're delusional. Before this post and clearly after this post.

Punk has been political since its inception. It's part of the reason for its existence. To expect a social distortion show not to be at least somewhat political is to showcase a total ignorance about the music and band you're going to see.

If the dude was such a big fan how in the fuck he didn't expect anything political is beyond me.

I think you're missing the forest for the trees. The fan probably knew that they were political, which is why he was doing his little silent protest at that point. He still can be a fan of the other things they do. I can be a fan of Robert De Niro's acting but then boo him when he starts mouthing off about Trump. Doesn't give him a right to jump out and start beating on me.

Look again. No one's saying he deserved to be spit on or assaulted.

He's still an idiot.

Also there are very few times where going to a concert and flipping off / deriding / the band is a good idea. Especially when it's a band people are passionate about. He's the victim and Ness is at fault. But he acted in a way that most people would realize is also pretty fucking dumb.

Like fender, you're delusional. No one's saying he was in the right, people just think the guy is stupid for thinking that punk isn't some political agenda in musical form and not realizing it through lyrics.

Of course because people think the guy is stupid, everyone agrees that the frontman should have hurt him. yeah, that's what you got from this.

Sure. It just seems like some people are under the impression it's strictly left-wing.

To be fair, conflict between the band and the audience has always been a part of punk, too.

I'm not missing anything. The politics are part of a punk show. Right or left. Paying to see something you know you wont like and then flipping off the person everyone else is there to see is not reasonable or intelligent behavior.

Never said it gave Ness a right to attack him physically.
