It's true..unlike the United States, despite Canada having 12 different provinces, only THREE of them have more than HALF of the population..a whopping 76% of the 35 million people live in these 3 places..and the election is always won in ONE place for the most part..

3 out of 12 is 25%. Considering the two provinces in the north are desolate frozen wastelands and a bunch of the ones in the Atlantic are tiny, this is hardly a surprise. It would be like finding out most of American lives in California and Texas, rather than Alaska and Rhode Island.

Incidentally, there are 323 million in the US. The 10 most populous states (less than Canada's 25%) have 165 million. In fact, if you go with just the top four states, you have over a third of the population.

It's funny to say 76% live in 3 provinces when you could have said that about 86% live in 4 provinces. BC and Alberta are pretty close for 3rd and 4th and nothing else is even close

my guess before looking at the choices was Ontario, Quebec, Alberta

But... Quebec or Alberta? Quebec has Montreal, but Alberta has Calgary and Edmonton. I legit don't know, so I voted Quebec because it's larger in size and isn't mostly mountains the way Alberta is.

Wow, people here know a lot more about Canada than I do. I assumed Quebec and Ontario for Montreal and Toronto, and I had no idea after that. I couldn't even tell you where each of the border provinces are, other than "west of Quebec and Ontario."

I knew it was 3/4 of Alberta, BC, Ontario and Quebec but I guessed the one without Quebec rather than the one without Alberta and was only 1 of 3 to do so.

Maybe I'm biased from being Canadian and all but I feel like Quebec is pretty obviously one of them. If you think about it, Quebec being a small province with no one in it would almost certainly mean you've never really heard of Quebec and its role in Canadian politics because it would be too irrelevant.

Yeah, I figured that Quebec had to be one of them or else their speaking French wouldn't be a big deal. Which made the poll easy since Quebec is only in 3 of the options and 2 of them didn't seem right.

Uhhhh I mean maybe I'm just more in touch with Canada than other people but I think it should be a well-known fact that Montreal is a major world city. Like it's roughly the size of Philadelphia. So yeah Quebec is obviously #2 behind Ontario

Yeah I guess if I tried to internally order em it should've been more obvious which was wrong just because Quebec must be one of the higher ranking ones and Alberta is more expendable.
