Parts on Autozone cost around $150ish, so mechanic is making $190ish on labor. Is that reasonable?

$90/hr is standard labor rate at most shops. So yes it's fair.

It takes two hours to replace rotors and pads? I thought it would take not even 45 minutes.

it may not but most shops will still bill you the full hour. Also pads are an easy job but rotors could be seized on or have other issues. A 2 hour brake job on all 4 wheels is actually pretty fast IMO.

What a fucking rip off. I did it myself last a few weeks ago. Two rotors and brake pads both costed me $60. Took me about three hours to change, but it was well worth it.

A little high but I've seen worse. That job can definitely be done in less than an hour.

Well there you go then. How much do you expect a busy qualified professional to charge you for 3 hours of their time?

Two rotors and pads, so an axle; not all four wheels.

I guess they are charging me an hour or two for labor and full retail price for the pads/rotors (despite them buying it at a steep discount)... Bleh.

Could at least say what you drive. Otherwise this topic is basically pointless.

Drive an f-350 diesel? That's a steal.

Drive an 04 corolla? That's not terrible.
