I'm pretty good at drawing from reference but when I take a character and try and draw it in a different pose (referencing from my crude stick figure pose as base) it looks awkward?
The stick figure in a certain pose is something that I drew out of my mind so it's not entirely anatomically correct. But I think it's good practice maybe. I try to not rely on other people's references and think up of my own, though this might be counter-productive. So how do people do it? --- Hero who appears in you to clear your view when you're too crazy. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Probably looking at photos or live models when possible. Seems like that'd be better practice for having something anatomically correct... since it actually is. Unless you've had a ton of practice and you're really good already, it's probably not the best idea to rely on your own brain for creating realistic positions and proportions, you know?
