Edit: How is it that some people can stand listening to traditional radio all day?*

I mean this could apply to sirius xm stations as well- they play the same songs over and over most of the time until you grow tired/sick of them. What exactly drives a person to want to do this to themselves? Is it that some people don't grow sick of hearing the same stuff over and over? Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy music but I need variety and some level of exploration to be involved.

Earlier in my life I worked at a somewhat undesirable factory job and people would just sit next to a radio and listen to the same station every day 6 days a week on 10 hour shifts, hearing the same songs over and over. Some of these people were old as fuck (relative to me at the time) and just listened to the same classic rock station all day and I can only assume they had been doing this for decades. After a few days of hearing the level of redundancy on most stations I was already sick of it.

I also had a job in an electronics department where the same songs would play over and over, that aspect of the job was definitely torturous.
